What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“NS-SHAFT is a classic platform jumping game that has been ported to multiple platforms and become an important symbol of my childhood gaming time.

Inspired by NS-SHAFT, this game is based on the elements of platform jumping and survival, trying to explore more randomness, complexity, and multi-player directions (in the plan, it should include PVP and PVE).

The basic mechanism of this game is simple and easy to learn. I hope to integrate my creativity and inspiration into it while ensuring better experience curve and balance.

For all this, player participation and feedback are particularly important.

I hope to let players participate in the process of improving the game through Early Access, so that the game becomes more fun and interesting.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“For this game, I have a series of development plans, some short-term plans are more detailed, long-term plans are more simple, I have a strong desire to complete them.
According to these plans, I hope to release the game in early 2025.
If there is a major change through player feedback, it will be changed according to the actual situation.
However, regardless of the feedback, I will update the game frequently to ensure that the game grows.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of the planned content will:

1.We plan to expand the core mechanics by adding an Object System (which we are already working on), allowing players to experience more noticeable growth within levels. We will also strive to continuously add new Objects to the system in the future.

2.We aim to enrich the game's content. Instead of creating many levels, we have focused on incorporating a lot of random elements into each level. Therefore, in the full version, we hope to provide more diverse level generation each time the player starts a game, ensuring a varied and engaging experience.

These represent our current plans, but the actual development of the full version will be adjusted based on player feedback during Early Access.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“We work hard to make the first online version of the game have random and rich gameplay when released. At first, the game had 1-2 theme levels, with levels in survival mode. Players may repeatedly experience and challenge the limits in these endless random levels.

Level content is randomly generated by the program, including several platforms, traps, sometimes dangerous, sometimes grass and wood soldiers, I believe that players will have an addictive experience in it.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“In order to thank players for their trust during the Early-Access phase, there will be a small price increase after launch, when the game will have a more complete game experience and more game content.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We ensure community engagement through the following methods:

Maintaining close communication with players on the Steam forums, our Discord server, and QQ groups.

Releasing monthly development logs, sharing game progress, and addressing the community's concerns.

We will adjust the game’s development based on community feedback, express our gratitude to all participating players, and include highly active contributors in the game’s credits.

While indie games may be hard to perfect, I firmly believe that the power of the community and players makes the game better.”

About This Game

"Hello, my friend!

This is my first game, 'Mario&Ana,' developed entirely by me. It's a pixel-style platformer combined with first-person shooting!

The game's name comes from the two very different characters players control: one jumps like Mario, while the other shoots and heals like Anna. Since I'm not great at naming, I just kept it.

That's right! Players take on two completely different roles: one for side-scrolling jumping and the other for first-person shooting! You can also invite a friend to play together, with one controlling the keyboard and the other the mouse, for a retro local co-op experience.

In the procedurally generated random world, try to survive as long as possible!"

If two people play the game, please use the childhood-style operation of "one person uses the keyboard and one person uses the mouse".
