About This Game

Threads of You: Beyond the Bay is a visual novel of love, friendship and life that invites you to explore seven different routes, each offering a unique outcome on the story. The story and fates of 7 potential love interests shift based on the decisions you make. Create your own main character with various customisable options, tailor the tale to your liking, and immerse yourself in the sun-soaked town of Brine Bay.

Finally, a vacation away from college, time away from dreadful assignments and tedious reports. On your way back home, you were looking forward to lounging in your room, forgetting all about your worries, but...

... What do you mean your car stopped working in the middle of nowhere?!

As a nice sheriff escorts you to a place to stay, you end up in the quaint town of Brine Bay— your temporary refuge of two weeks, as you find yourself entangled with seven interesting men. All with their own knots to untie. Oh well, since it's still a vacation, might as well make the most of it. You never know just what this town has in store for you!

In this quaint little beach town, there isn’t a single person that doesn’t know who the sheriff is. At first glance, Jean’s scars and built body might make one wary, but beneath all that is a kind and caring man who wants nothing more than to protect his beloved hometown and its citizens.

Having grown up in Brine Bay during rougher, more dangerous times, his wish is to preserve the peace. Despite his usually calm and collected nature he maintains for his role, Jean secretly has a playful, competitive side that shows itself whenever he lowers his guard.

He tends to work himself a bit too much, so there are times where he spaces out, looking at the sea with an air of melancholy, or longing for something…

At first glance, Kai gives all the impression of a confident Casanova that’s ready to sweep you off your feet and to your first appointment with a tattoo artist and only the tattoo part is true.

Easygoing, prone to flirting but lacking the wit for clever wordplay, Kai is a mechanic at his family's garage. Though, his whims and friends seem to take him to just about everywhere except there, which might be a problem considering you're counting on him to get out of Brine Bay.

It doesn't seem to be laziness, but ah. Well, you're probably not all that interested in someone who's more of a side character in his own life, right?

Whether in need of a warm meal or bright smile, Chris is the first to provide! His gentle heart is open to all. As the eldest brother of four and owner of the local diner, his days are filled with balancing the needs of others and caring for those around him.

There's a calm maturity to his mindfulness. His optimism and light doesn't come from a place of naivety, but rather experience and necessity. Chris has placed himself firmly in the role of the reliable and steady caretaker. The only exception to this is his childhood friend Kai, who has always been the one to give Chris a place to relax. As his workload piles up and things become more difficult to manage, though, he's began to pull away from even him in fear of burdening his friend.

Can you be the one to give Chris a shoulder to lean on?

At the beach of Brine Bay, there's a quiet little spot near the tidepools that tourists and residents alike avoid. When the tide rises, the rocks are slippery and dangerous. When it lowers, the only life found there are beached starfish, angry crabs, and a very odd and closed-off man named Vince.

Usually hiding away indoors, Vince haunts the streets of the city with his rare appearances - showing up at inopportune times and slipping away before anyone has a chance to ask questions. He doesn't mean anything bad at it. Unfortunately, he's simply terrible at social interactions. Still, in the rare moments he speaks and words tumble out of his mouth, there's a clear yearning for connection in each of his clumsy attempts at conversation.

As a stranger to this town who doesn't know his reputation, maybe you can be the one he shares his secrets with.

In a town comprised of dense, criss-crossing connections, Andrew is a drifting outlier. Whether he's manning a conspicuously unpatronized bookstore with only the company of his cat, Chipoki; attempting yet another grandiose art project in a burst of short-lived inspiration; or heading out to Cup o' Jo Mama's for their weekly Pie Day, his days pass by in an unchanging, solitary routine.

Andrew claims to prefer it this way; the peace and quiet is a reliable, comforting constant, unlike the unpredictable complexities of… everything else. And yet, on the rare occasions where he's in the company of others, something within him seems to blossom: something warm and mischievous and quick to laugh, a flash of sun from an otherwise cloudy sky.

No man is an island. Even the loneliest of drifting ships may just need a little push from new tides and currents to find their way home…

Due to his show boat tendencies, Kevin lives up as the greatest showman in town. It doesn’t matter if he’s with the rest of the Reel Dramatics troupe, or smack dab in the middle of the square. As long as there’s an audience, Kevin will strive to put on a one-of-a-kind performance even if it, at times, gets him in trouble with the local authorities.

Having set his eyes on Broadway’s blinding lights since he was six, Kevin’s the poster boy for all the small town kids with big dreams. The only difference between him and the other la-la landers is that he’s well on his way to making it a reality. However, the road to stardom is nothing but wicked. Just as he’s stuck in the heights of growing self-doubt and unrest, you enter stage right.

To help, or not to help… that is the question you must answer.

Perhaps boardroom meetings and quarterly earnings reports wouldn't be the first things you'd think of upon laying eyes on his effortless red-carpet demeanor, but as CEO and founder of Whycrosoft, Wyatt boasts countless notches to his belt and accolades to his name. Because of this, many perceive him as an almost untouchable existence — including much of the people of Brine Bay.

However, his recent return has got much of the town talking; he doesn't appear to be quite as forbidding as many had expected him to be. He's proven himself as sharp, even incisive but intertwined with all that flair and glamor is a hidden care and willingness to extend a hand.

What does Wyatt want and who is he, really? Now that you've taken the title of Brine Bay's latest newcomer for yourself, maybe you can see what others haven't…
