What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The game is a finished product, albeit a bit subpar from an art and User Experience perspective. I'm a developer, but not much of an artist or designer, and as such, the time it will take me to finish and revamp art assets and tweak the User Experience is considerable. Since the game is in a fully working and complete state, I feel I wouldn't want people who might want to play the game to have to wait months for me to revamp the art or accessibility, so Early Access will allow those users who still want to play to be able to. There are also just a few quirks I'd like to polish, like dynamic window resizing when pausing, getting Steam Achievements to work on Mac, and other small things of that ilk that really don't act as blockers for fully enjoying the game.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Hopefully just a few months. Feedback and suggestions of fixes and changes will come quickly, and the game is so close to achieving my vision that I don't see Early Access as more than a small stepping stone.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The game's art and polish can always be improved, it's a never-ending pursuit of perfection. I would say the biggest aspirations are those two, which will be focused as my top priority. I am constantly receiving suggestions of small tweaks to make or small bugs to tackle, but the list dwindles with each day. The music is something that is on my list to revamp as well.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Fully complete and playable! You can play all the way to the end of the game (from early playtests, this could take around 10-15 hours) in its current state. Every puzzle, plot point, each of the multiple endings, is fully completed already, and the game is in a fully functional state. It just needs a bit of polish here and there.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No, barring some unforeseen circumstance.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Maximally! I've already got many close tight-knit groups of people who have been playing the game and giving feedback from all over: Miami, San Francisco, New York, and giving end users to access the game early would only help my development effort. User Testing is one of the things that I feel I can never have enough of, and all the comments of the end users will be taken to heart. So often have I thought something in my game was obvious, only to learn it was way too cryptic. Reviews and forum posts will help to smooth these points of tension in the game and allow it to become a truly great piece of art.”

About This Game

Flowereverie is a peaceful flower-laden puzzle game where, to perform any action you must first spell it, by arranging letters like flowers in a vase. Hone your flower-arranging skills to spell anything you can think of! Learn to walk, talk, climb, swim, and more, by collecting flowers and vases to create beautiful arrangements of letters. Cast spells, spell spells, become the land's most prolific flower arranger, and you might be able to discover the dark secrets of the town proper.

In the world governed by the mythical and loved-by-all goddess Sakuya, no action can be undertaken before first spelling it by arranging letters in a vase like flowers.

When passers-by enter the peaceful and idyllic world, they cannot even walk or talk, but after learning to "arrange" those words using flowers and vases, the artform of flower-arranging reveals itself as a rich and infinitely deep concentration.

By changing just 1 letter of the Red Pedalwalker, the very first flower you encounter in the game, you can spell TALK, LIE, and ALTER! It's a very powerful flower indeed. As you learn more Spells, you'll be able to change more letters in more ways, and spell even longer and more complicated Spells.

Outsiders to the peaceful village home to the flower-arranging art have trouble grasping the village's strange way of life, and thus are a rarity. As you become more well-versed in the culture of the world, dark secrets of the town proper will start to reveal themselves.

What is the truth of this flower-laden world? What are its secrets? Become the best flower-arranger in the land, expose the world's lies, and decide the future of the world of Flowereverie.
