About This Game

STREET CAR CULTURE, BUILT FOR REAL

The Scene is a night-time street car game about the whole life of a car: buying it, driving it, breaking it, wrenching on it, running from the cops in it and showing it off.

A CITY THAT NEVER SLEEPS

Cruise a downtown inspired by Charlotte, NC, through a full day and night. Rain soaks the asphalt and turns the streets into mirrors, and the city lights come on block by block as the sun goes down.

EVERY PART COMES OFF. EVERY PART MATTERS.

  • Diagnose: warning lights, a rough idle, a car that won't crank. Find out why.

  • Strip: put it on the lift and pull it apart in the right order, down to the rocker arms.

  • Refurb or scrap: your shelf, your call. Your mechanic skill decides how a refurb turns out.

  • Build it better: upgrades you feel on the road and hear in the exhaust.

  • Run a shop: take in customers' cars, find what's wrong, fix it and hand it back for pay. Order the parts you need from the shop computer.

Every part is tracked on its own, and a worn or missing part shows up the way it would in a real car.

DRIVES LIKE IT SHOULD

Each car is matched to the real car it's based on: its weight, power, torque curve, redline and gearing, down to the factory traction and stability control on the cars that came with it. Turbo spool and blow-off, supercharger whine and engine notes that change as you upgrade. Drive with a controller, a keyboard or a wheel, with a clutch pedal and an H-pattern shifter if you have them.

WATCH YOUR MIRRORS

Cops patrol the streets. Drive like a fool in front of one and you're wanted, with more units joining the chase as it heats up. Break their line of sight and lay low to get away, or get busted and lose part of what you made that night.

MAKE IT YOURS

Park in the paint booth for solid, metallic, pearl, candy, chameleon and chrome paint, in gloss, satin or matte, on the body and the rims. Next door in the body shop: wheels and tires, body kits, stance and 13 colors of underglow. Try every look on your car before you pay for it. Anything you buy for a car stays with that car, and parts you swap off are kept, so going back costs nothing.

CRUISE TOGETHER

Jump into an official server with up to 100 drivers, or host your own and bring your friends. Official servers sit at the top of the server list with their ping and player count, and your Steam friends can see which server you're on. Meet up, show off your builds and shoot them in photo mode or the cinematic camera, with your own time of day, weather and lights.

WHAT'S COMING

In development

  • Street races on the real streets, with the cops in play. Get caught racing and the whole race shares the heat.

  • Legit racing on closed tracks, with a ranked ladder for the drivers who want to prove it.

  • Rep levels and prestige ranks, with rank-only looks everyone on the streets can see.

  • Crews of up to 20, with your own crew garage.

  • Liveries: design your own and wear it on the streets.

  • More official servers as the scene grows.

  • A growing city, built out zone by zone.

All car makes and models in The Scene are fictional.
