About This Game

"Umbral" is a first-person game focused on its own story and narrative*, featuring elements* of horror, exploration, and puzzles. In "Umbral," you step into the shoes of Mateus, a young adult frustrated with life who, after facing various personal problems, decides to commit suicide. However, to his dismay, his existence doesn't end there. After committing the terrible act against himself, he finds himself in a place called Umbral, where he must deal with an even worse reality.

The story of "Umbral" is based on elements of Kardecist Spiritism and Umbanda. The game explores what Mateus's spirit encounters on the "other side," as he questions why he didn't truly die. Mateus faces various horrific situations in a frightening and hostile place, quickly realizing that there are even more cruelties there than in the world he left behind.

How does one cope with such a situation? After all, Mateus only wanted peace, a final rest, and not even that was granted to him. What will unfold in this story?
