Learn to sail, explore the oceans or compete in races in the most realistic sailing simulator available. You sail in the real world and in real weather. Sailing from the US to Europe will take several weeks. When you log off, your boat will continue to sail.

Sailing with others and against others

You may encounter other boats, sail together on the same boat or compete against others in races. The are many races, cruises and other sailing events organized by the active community.

Real weather

During your sailing journey, you will experience the same weather as the real world experiences. When it storms in the real world at the coordinates of your boat, there will be a storm with dark clouds and huge waves in the virtual world as well. And when there is no wind in the real world, your boat will float helplessly in the vast ocean waiting for a breeze, while there is nothing you can do.

Sail trim

The air flowing along your sails is simulated and can be made visual. When you change the shape of your sails with your own custom trim lines and deck layout, this air flow changes visibly. Creating a fantastic opportunity to experiment and learn how to trim your boat.

Navigation

The position of the Sun, Moon, planets and stars are accurately simulated. Allowing you to practice celestial navigation. The buoys, lights and other seamarks of the real world are present as well and at night the coastal areas are filled with the rhythmic flashing of red, white and green lights according to their light signatures. A perfect way to practice your navigation skills.

Boat designer

Sailaway III comes with an advanced boat designer. Upload your 3D models and Sailaway will fill in the hard bits. How the boat sails is computed automatically based on the shape of the hull and everything that is attached to it (sails, foils, etc).
