Miksi Early Access?

Being a solo developer, Early Access will allow me to better balance developing the game and marketing it, as well as giving players access to the product in which they will be able to provide feedback and report any issues.

The scale of the project puts the release of the full game a little ways into the future, and I would like to be able to deliver regular content updates as I make progress, and show the game is real and actively being made.

Approximately 2 years.

Millä tavoin lopullinen versio tulee eroamaan Early Access -versiosta?

For the ideal final 1.0 release, I plan to include more locations, mechanics, and content, to fully complete the story we have planned out.

Planned updates aim to include locations such as the underground areas, a forest location, a cliffside fortress location, and a large castle structure for the end game. The initial release has 3 levels to play through, final version is planned for at least 10.
Planned content is aimed to mainly be additional weapons, staffs and spells, armor, and items, all to be included in their respective levels - as well as enemies, boss fights, and story content as expected when shipping new, later game areas.

Mikä on Early Access -version tila tällä hetkellä?

Approximately 1 - 1.5 hour campaign. The current levels are complete and content included is finished.
The current version has 3 levels accessible to play through, the final version is planned for at least 10 (depending on size - areas may need to be segmented).

I plan to gradually raise the price as I ship new content and features.

I plan to interact with the community via Steam Discussions and social media such as YouTube and Twitter (both of which can be accessed from the Steam Page). Allowing players to give feedback, discuss changes, and fix issues.

Life Blood is a first-person, Kingsfield-like action & adventure game, with a focus on exploration of a layered and interconnected world.

Key Features

A tense but rewarding combat system that requires quick reflexes and careful reading of enemy animations and use of the game's mechanics. Weapons become tools as different battles will require different strategies and weapon types.

Find shortcuts, unlock doors, and activate elevators that aid your route across the world. Checkpoints are few and far between, making your journeys deliberate and requiring consideration.

Hidden paths might reveal an entirely new, secret location, and secret chests might house that single item you need to push forward. Valuable items are abundant but require a keen eye to find. Don't be afraid to use the tools provided; certain battles may require a more experimental approach.

Lore is tucked into every page of Life Blood. Item descriptions are cryptic but rich with clues. Characters you meet talk of the history of God's Reach... the secrets of the past are still waiting to be uncovered.

Venture down into the mountainous kingdom, loot dismal villages on the cliffside, navigate through spiralling stone dungeons and crypts, accumulate enough of the writhing Life Blood, and unseal the long-lost secrets hidden deep within the rock heart of the mountain.
