Between 1930 and 1933, Lieutenant Chen, an ambitious Asian officer, travels to a remote mine in the mountains of French Indochina to investigate a decrease in mineral production. Various forces become entangled in the power play, revealing the truth amid diplomatic mediation and supernatural events.

Character Introductions

Lieutenant Chen

A 25-year-old French military man with ambitious goals, bravery, and a hint of recklessness. He arrives alone in Blue Jade Mountain, aiming to distinguish himself and climb the ranks.

Li Qingyang

Considered a descendant of the Li warlords of Kunming, Li Qingyang investigates peacock stone trade in Blue Jade Mountain. Despite a somewhat unfriendly demeanor with her eyes dim and unfriendly, her youthful appeareance adds charm with her petite nose and tightly pursed lips, concealing her status as an unsuccessful concubine's daughter. She likes to wear the school uniform of the Republic of China. But the results of her investigation turns out differently......

Nguyễn Kim Hồng

A mixed-race individual born in French Indochina, proficient in Chinese, French, and Vietnamese and heights 1.52 meters. Li Qingyang's assistant. Though eccentric and having an affinity for mysterious objects, she has the power to resist the calling from dark.

Adjutant Cati

Lieutenant Chen's local adjutant, reliable but somewhat lazy with questionable habits like eating, drinking, gambling, and whoring. Fondly referred to as "Adjutant," Cati is a helpful assistant.

Supply Officer Martin

Local supply officer who assists the protagonist during their time in Blue Jade Mountain.
