Why Early Access?

“2 months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“More quality of life features and more level building tools.

Better level browsing.

Better level metadata and tagging.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“There is an in-game level browser which allows you to access levels created by other users. However it will become difficult to navigate once there are large numbers of levels. Once we have a lot of community contributed content we will be able to add level tags and search/sort features to the level browser to make it easier to find the kinds of levels users want to play.

Levels currently also only really have a randomly generated title and a preview image. We plan to add more tools for describing and tagging your level so you are more able to communicate what kind of level you are creating.

We also have ratings at the moment which are very minimal and we plan to make ratings/reviewing levels more detailed.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game is free now and forever.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We are hosting level design competitions and will be collecting feedback from participants.

We have an open community discord server (https://gamedevfieldguide.com/discord) where we will encourage discussion, bugfix/feature requests and general level design conversation.

The game is completely open source (https://github.com/LPGameDevs/EditarrrPublic) and anyone is welcome to either fork the game for their own development or contribute to its ongoing development.

Any game reviews or community hub posts will also be taken into consideration.”
