The thing about early access

The game is in early stages of development, but has enough content already to get players to test the game and start getting engaged with it. We intend to gather as much feedback as possible from players that have tried the early version of the game. We plan to consider these ideas, develop them and eventually implement them if they are to par with the standards of the game. We also intend to constantly push updates to the game, until the game can be considered a fully-fledged title for the full release.

Early access allows us to fully engage with the community and listen for feedback so that the game can become great for full release. Early access also enables players to get slowly introduced to the world of the Chompers, which are crazy beasts with an unhealthy fascination of fully-automated, and sometimes self-replicating, killing machines.

A little word about the price

The early access price is also lower in comparison to the full release price, since not all planned features will be in the game during early access. This is your chance to experience this game with a lower price, and still recieve all the free updates that will come down the line until full release, and more.“

Early access, for how long?

This game will remain in early access until a sufficient amount of content is present in the game to be considered a fully fledged 1.0 release. We hope that within one year, the game will be a fully fledged game and can be released as a full title. Our current planned date is a March release, but that might change depending on feedback and the need to add or adjust certain features and game mechanics.“

Early Access to full release

We plan to add all of the game features for the full version, coated with the high standard that we adopt for all of our present and future games. We envision to, for the full version of the game, implement all of the remaining planned features that are currently under development, such as additional traps, enemies, wall types and special items. Early WIP versions of those features are present the early access version so players can get a taste of what's coming in the future.

What is currently in the early access version?
The early access version contains all of the core mechanics of the game, such as building, researching and crafting items, placing defensive objects such as turrets and traps and the ability to fight to defend your base. There are several waves of enemies, each time getting harder and harder to beat.

We plan that, for the full version of the game, it will contain all of these core mechanics, however in a substantially more polished state. We plan to also release heaps of additional content, all which add towards a full future release.

Below you can find some of the features we plan to add for the full release:

• More turret types and more turret tiers
  
• Additional traps, such as spike traps and mines
  
• Additional wall tiers and special walls, such as walls that only players can navigate through (we call them mirror walls)
  
• More types of enemies, and specialized enemies such as wall breakers and enemy boosters, such as enemies that can give a buff to neighboring enemies
  
• Different environments, each offering a unique experience
  
• Day and night cycle with a fully dynamic weather system. These will affect gameplay in various ways.
  
• Character upgrades, such as faster shooting speed or shooting from all directions
  
• An XP system that will allow players to unlock and apply skins to objects, such as turrets and traps
  
• Full Steam cloud integration

What is the current state of the early access version?

Here is a summary of all the things you can expect to find in the early access version:

• Building: build your base with various blocks, farms, defensive structures, workbenches and traps.
  
• Researching: research new defense structures, farms, traps and fortifications to add to your base in order to defend the core.
  
• Crafting: craft workbenches, turrets, traps, walls and farms in order to keep expanding your base!
  
• Multiplayer: play with up to 4 players in a game.
  
• Enemies: there are 5 different types of enemies, and they all have special "abilities" that will progressively appear as you reach new wave levels.

The current stage is in the earliest of form of an early access title. We want to push out the game and introduce it to the world in a fast, efficient way, and Steam Early Access allows that. Early access gives the player an initial look of the world we have created. It also allows us to work alongside feedback to give players a great experience.

In the following month, we plan to move on to our internal next stage of early access, which is the core game but with more building items, more enemy types, more traps and more late-game content amongst other things.“

Community is everything to us

Community feedback and communication is a top priority for us. We will have an active Discord server with constant updates and sneak-peaks at upcoming game features. We also have a YouTube page that we will keep active and offer sneak-peeks and reveal upcoming features. We will build this game alongside the community, because after all, this game is for the community. And together we will dream, build and repeat!“
