Why Early Access?

“Roll the Bones is a solo-developed game - a vision of a single person, developed by the very same person. It was playtested by a small group of friends and Steam volunteers, and it would be considered a finished product by the most. It's ready to be played and enjoyed, but there are some aspects of the game - mainly the difficulty curve and level generation balance - that will greatly benefit from a larger groups of players providing their feedback. Roll the Bones is taking the Early Access route to graduate from "ready to be enjoyed" to "highly polished and irresistible".”

“At this point the most cautious estimate would be: no longer than one year.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“As was said - Roll the Bones is already a complete game. The plan for the course of Early Access is to improve the difficulty curve so the game is challenging but not overly frustrating, introduce quality-of-life improvements as per EA players' suggestions, and to add some extra content, to make the game world even richer for the full release.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is 100% feature-complete and offers a full gameplay experience from start to finish.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game's Early Access price is somewhat reduced as a token of appreciation towards the players who get the game early and support its further development. It will be made slightly higher for the full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community involvement is the most crucial point for Roll the Bones development in Early Access. The game is already pretty much complete, and player feedback is the intended catalyst of additional polish, improvement, and expansion. Roll the Bones EA players are invited to join the game's Discord server and voice their opinion in the game's Steam community hub.”
