What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The game is in its prototype version.

Currently implemented features are as follows:
Collecting and Converting Resources - Players can collect nectar and pollen by clicking on flowers, and can convert nectar to honey, then wax.
Building Honeycomb Structures - Using wax, players can build the new honeycomb structures storage and dryer.
Managing Bees - The player can change a bee’s current job. Depending on its job, the bee will either store resources in storage honeycombs, feed larvae, or build new structures from wax. The player can also see each bee’s information by clicking on them.
Raising New Bees - Once the queen bee receives enough honey and pollen, it is able to lay an egg which can be raised to become new bees.
Pollinating Flowers - The player can pollinate and increase the number of the same flower by providing pollen to a certain flower.
Collecting Seeds for New Flowers - The player can receive seeds to new types of flowers as a gift from the hummingbird once it receives enough nectar.

For more information, refer to the description section of the game.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The game will be in early access for around 5 to 7 months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to fix bugs and add sound effects and background music. We also plan to add more content such as upgrades to builds for longer gameplay time.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Currently, only basic gameplay mechanics are implemented. Players can collect, convert, and store the base four resources – honey, nectar, pollen, and wax. Players can also interact with various objects of the game, notably the flowers, worker bees, queen bee, and hummingbird. Finally, players can build new honeycomb structures for resource storing and conversion, and raise new worker bees from eggs.
The game does not yet have upgrades for the different types of honeycomb structures and while an inventory system exists, the game does not yet have items other than the base four resources.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The early access version of this game will be released for free. We plan to raise the price once the game leaves early access – probably around May to July of 2024.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“While we will mainly focus on implementing planned functions, we also plan to listen to community feedback. We plan on receiving general feedback through comments in reviews, and will try to fix any bugs or add new features suggested in the reviews.”

About This Game

Bees pollinate the most flowers among pollinators. However, bee populations have been declining in recent years due to the accumulation of multiple factors: pests, agrochemicals, and habitat loss. Everbee aims to draw awareness to this issue by letting people raise their own virtual bee hive!

  • Collect Resources Flower: Nectar and pollen can be collected from flowers by clicking on them. The bees will also automatically collect resources for you.
  • Convert Resources: The collected nectar and pollen can be converted into the likes of honey and wax in the top left converting panel.
  • Build New Cells: New cells can be added to the beehive using wax.
  • Functional Cells: Functional cells can automate your work. Once built, the bees will fill functional cells with the needed materials to convert into other resources automatically, for example. Hatcheries can provide the queen bee with space for her eggs.
  • Grow the Colony: New worker bees can hatch if the queen bee is fed and if there is a hatchery available. New workers can boost the hive.
  • Collect New Flowers: If you give it nectar, the hummingbird will fetch new seeds for you. These can be used to grow new flowers that have different nectar and pollen producing capabilities.
