Why Early Access?

“Every Year Banjir is a game made by SoyaDaizu, a solo developer, and chinnyinc, an illustrator who handles the art of the characters and backgrounds. With the amount of workload and time required to produce all three levels while running the #everyyearbanjir campaign, we would like to invite players to participate in our ongoing process to complete a fun and informative game about environmental issues.

As a unique genre of its own, we are introducing a hybrid play style, and through early access, we hope to get feedback from players who enjoy survival games, RPG games, and story-driven scenarios to improve upon the game dynamics.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The complete game will be finished in roughly 3 months to work on the default difficulty of the level, then the easy and hardcore difficulty levels.

The game will be in early access until all three difficulty levels and four stages are completed.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to create three difficulties. Every year Banjir has four linear stages: the PPS, the river, the house, and the rooftop of an apartment building. All four settings will draw out the real challenges faced in those specific places.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The early access version will include the first playable stage, which is the Temporary Shelter, PPS.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No. The price is fixed.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We hope to get input from players to improve the play style, controls, and flood awareness information that can be included or needs to be rectified.

As we release the game by introducing new mechanics in different stages, players can provide feedback on the mechanics, such as how they prefer to control the character or how a tool may or may not be fun in a survival situation. We want the fun and the educational value to play well together.

We will be mainly communicating through our social channels (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram) and releasing development updates to the Steam community on a weekly basis. We will communicate with the game community mainly on Steam discussion boards.”
