What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Coloniser's goal of up to 90 players over 90 days in an RTS setting (with a higher number of controllable units) requires quite a bit of technical work over time to function well. In addition while the current game has two of our eras in place, deep fulfilling gameplay will come over time as additional buildings, units, and world elements arrive.

Our development team has reached a point where some of our core features are testable and we deeply value feedback from our target players.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“In all honesty we anticipate the game being in early access for at least a year, but quite possibly much longer if all goes well. We're excited to continue our development pipeline regardless of Early Access interest, but extensive player feedback would in all likelihood encourage a deeper pipeline of features then we currently have planned. That would be a very good problem to have.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We currently have two of our foundational three eras in place alongside roughly half of our core units and buildings. We would like to finish creating our third era, the supporting units and buildings for that period, and additional optimizations to our server structure prior to launch.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“We have local multiplayer gameplay that allows for up to (8) player skirmishes. More importantly we have our "Colony" Mode that supports up to 16 Players over a 90 Day period.

The primary units and buildings for our first "tribe" are playable for the first two eras of gameplay.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to keep the game price largely the same after leaving early access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We really value community feedback in the development process. This game's development is being driven by a love of the RTS genre and a genuine hope to take classic RTS elements and provide a new spin on them.

Community feedback will have a big hand in guiding various priorities in our development pipeline. We're cognizant that purchasing an early access game is a big commitment to a relatively unknown product and we intend to reciprocate with genuine engagement and action.”

About This Game

Set Out on an Odyssey of the Human Race Where Future Meets Past…

Coloniser is a sandbox strategy game set in a new world with city building, persistent servers (up to 90 days), and high-player counts (currently 16 players). Colonise a new world with your starting colonist and battle other players for supremacy. Your progress continues even when you log-off unless another player destroys you first. Defend your kingdom with fortifications and reinforce with units.

Enter a New World Where Mankind Looks to Rebuild Civilization...

Our primary game mode is “Colony Mode”. Select a colony to join and you will start with your first colonist. Currently all players begin with the same basic colonist that serves as both an economic and military capable unit. This unit can build your first homestead wherever you desire. The homestead can create additional colonists to build your kingdom. Your first colonist is a powerful unit and important for the growth of your colony, however it can still perish.

Traverse Through a World of Deep Conflict and Divide Amongst a Civilization Once Whole…

The world in Coloniser is dangerous. Human colonists have crash landed on the wrong planet, destroying all their equipment. They’ve survived, formed scattered colonies, but after a few generations, all knowledge of advanced technology has become legend. Now they live in several tribes, always in conflict with each other and amongst themselves. Armies are styled on medieval Europe, but not bound by historical restraints. As your colony accumulates resources you can advance your Colony's era to unlock additional buildings, units, and upgrades. The story of each colony is yours and your fellow players to write.

  • Coloniser currently supports up to (16) concurrent players
  • Colonies can last up to 90 days

If you are defeated, all units and buildings destroyed, you may rejoin a server to begin anew. Building and units are persistent so even if you logoff your progress will remain until you rejoin. However if another player attacks you may be destroyed. It is wise to utilize defensive fortifications such as towers, castles, and walls to help resist invaders.

Build a Kingdom

The maps of Coloniser are enormous isometric landscapes with grid-based placement that allows for ample construction of intricate fortifications (including walls and gates), buildings from which to create units and collect resources, and marketplaces that can be used to trade with other players.
