“Why Early Access?

Wicked Island is an ambitious open-world survival game with adult themes, set in a brutal post-apocalyptic fantasy world. Given the scope of the systems—ranging from dynamic faction AI to sandbox survival mechanics and narrative events—it’s essential to involve the community early to test and refine these overlapping features.

Early Access will allow us to:

Gather feedback on survival balance, progression pacing, and AI behavior.

Identify and fix bugs more efficiently across diverse hardware setups.

Improve world-building and adult content integration based on player expectations.

Evolve the sandbox systems into better story generators through player interaction and emergent gameplay.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I aim to release the game fully within 1 year of releasing in early access.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We will strive to make sure the full version will have more quest content, enemy types, animations, locations and a more balanced player experience overall. A lot more polish of basic features is planned as well.
Several of the dungeon maps are being worked on to be more unique and varied. More questlines are planned as well as more NPC's and interaction between factions.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version contains most of the main systems that will be in place in the full release and has many hours of content. Crafting, building, breeding, servants, quests, farming etc are all already implemented but will be fleshed out with more content during early access.
All features showcased on the store page about this are already in place.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, the early access game will have a discount applied for its duration.”
