Why Early Access?

“Hello, I'm Krab, developer of Trash Bandits! I'm putting Trash Bandits into early access to give dedicated players an opportunity to provide feedback on various aspects of the game, such as the mechanics and difficulty curve, in order to help prepare the game for a wider audience. I want to make sure the game feels fun to play for as many people as possible!

Additionally, I want to get players involved early with the Level Editor, so there will be a fleshed out library of custom levels for players to enjoy!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I'd estimate that Trash Bandits will be in early access for approximately 6 months, though it could take shorter or longer.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The current plan is for the full version of Trash Bandits to have a fully fleshed out story mode, with at least 2 to 3 times the number of levels as the Early Access release, including brand new worlds and environments (each with new music tracks too!). Additionally, I plan to greatly expand the hotel system, with a far greater number of guests and hotel customization options.

The level editor will continue to receive updates and new objects and tools for level creators to use. I'd also like to integrate user-made levels into the story mode, acting as missions for the player to complete for in-game money.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version has the first act of the story available, and a simplified version of the hotel management system, which I plan to expand upon greatly. It also has a fully functional level editor, with the ability to directly upload levels to the Steam Workshop, as well as browsing, downloading, and playing custom levels directly from the game client.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“There is currently no plan to increase the price upon leaving Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I plan to involve the community through our Discord, which can be joined through the game's main menu, as well as the Steam community forums. The Discord is the primary place for players to report bugs, give feedback, share levels and ideas, and interact with the developer.”
