“Soulash 2 is a massive and complex project born from a one-man's lifelong passion for gaming. I've rebuilt the first game from the ground up with new design fundaments of massive scale, sandbox features, and procedural content to allow players to experience the game as they like and forge their own stories within the world's constraints.

Because Soulash development alongside players' feedback has worked so well for the game during its EA, I would like to continue the next chapter of this incredible journey with the players to adjust my vision for the game to match their expectations.”

“During early access, my main focus will be to work on the mid to endgame mechanics around conquest and settlement management, adding strategy elements to enhance the conquest theme with tools to deal with the scale of the world.

Hur är det nuvarande läget i versionen med Early Access?

“The current version of the game revolves around the Adventuring loop - discovering and raiding procedural locations, acquiring new valuables to sell and resources to use in crafting, and interacting with NPCs in settlements. It also has procedural world generation with history simulation that revolves around settlements but doesn't focus on creating individual personalities for each NPC.

During Early Access the game has already had 2 major updates adding Companions and Settlement Management features from the Roadmap.

The game has 11 civilizations implemented, with procedural portraits, settlements, unique buildings, resources, and items.

There are 11 different world biomes, with procedural locations unique per biome.

Aside from combat, skill progression, and exploration, the EA has fully functional crafting, building, settlement management, and trading.

The game will be updated often, and due to its complexity, especially around procedural generation, bugs may be frequent during Early Access.

Extensive Modding Tools are available with Steam Workshop integration.”

“I'm active on the game's Discord channel to discuss the game, receive feedback, or help with issues. I lurk around on the Steam Community to understand how players feel about different parts of the game, but I try to avoid getting into conversations there if I'm not needed so players have a place to share their opinions more freely.

I believe in honest and open communication, I respond to feedback after enough players have the opportunity to voice their opinions. Soulash 2 is a niche game built with limited resources, and I can't promise that the game will be developed past the full release, but I can promise a year of development since the beginning of EA. Because of the open world and sandbox mechanics, the potential is to keep expanding the game with entirely new playstyles and world interactions for many years if the release succeeds.

If there's an interest in modding, I'll keep expanding the capabilities of the editors during EA, so players have more opportunities to be even more creative and share their content with others on Steam Workshop.
