« Floomy is designed to be a rewarding experience despite reverting back to level 1 at game over. By collecting gems, the player can obtain permanent upgrades in the Hop Shop which will naturally help them to overcome obstacles faster and more efficiently. By launching Floomy in Early Access, I hope to leverage feedback to make purchases feel balanced in both what they offer and the amount of gems needed to obtain them. Furthermore, I also hope to iron out level design flaws and make necessary changes/additions to enhance the overall gameplay experience. »

« This largely depends on the feedback received. My hope is to officially release this game by the end of the year but I may add more to it if the feedback indicates it would be meaningful to do so. That is not to say the game won't be supported after its 1.0 release, rather, I hope to deliver a satisfying experience that meets expectations for a full release. »

Early Access Goals
  • Cost adjustments within the Hop Shop:
    The number of gems required to obtain core enhancements should feel both earned and obtainable.
  • Additional enhancements:
    A few enhancements may be added, removed, or adjusted depending on whether or not they strengthen the core experience. Enhancements should feel empowering without robbing the game of its challenge.
  • Additonal levels:
    Additional levels may be added if it is determined that the average run completion time is too short. Branching routes may also be added for players seeking additional challenges/secrets.
  • Level Design:
    existing levels may be adjusted to smooth out unnecessary difficulty spikes, cheap deaths, or levels that are too easy.

The aforementioned goals will be largely influenced by player-driven feedback. »

« Floomy is playable from start to finish. The Hop Shop and the way it influences player experience is what is subject to change most.

Currently, Floomy features 27 levels divided into 5 uniquely themed zones. Various critters within these zones affect players' aerial mobility, gracefully hopping from one to another, and avoiding falls while progressing toward their objective.

The Hop Shop is also here with enhancements that can improve our playable protagonist's abilities or customize their appearance. »

  • Hop on critters to make your way to each goal. There aren't many stable platforms to stand on so keep moving!

  • Embrace Death! Mastery is all about good timing so get comfortable with trial and error.
  • Most critters react to being hopped on differently. For instance, hopping on a blue birdy will propel Floomy upwards, while another might suck you up, then spit you out.
  • Don't forget to spend your gems at the Hop Shop to enhance Floomy's abilities!
