What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Early Access lets us build Blood Moon Horror alongside the players who will spend the most time with it. By launching while the core experience is playable, we can gather real feedback on balance, difficulty, pacing, performance, and quality-of-life—then prioritize improvements and fixes based on what the community actually wants and encounters.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect Early Access to last around one year, but that timeframe may change depending on development progress and what we learn from player feedback. Our goal is to leave Early Access when the game feels polished, stable, and content-complete for our planned full release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan for the full version to expand Blood Moon Horror in both scope and polish, including:
- More content: additional enemies, maps/areas, and new gameplay additions inspired by community feedback.
- More progression and variety: more ways for runs to feel different and more reasons to keep playing.
- Improved balance and tuning: difficulty curves, enemy behavior, rewards, and pacing based on player data and reports.
- More refinement: better performance, stability, UI/UX improvements, and overall polish.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is fully playable with the core gameplay loop implemented. The features described in the “About This” section are in the game now, and you can jump in and experience the intended direction of Blood Moon Horror today. During Early Access, we’ll focus on expanding content and improving balance, clarity, performance, and overall quality based on community feedback.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We do not plan to increase the price during Early Access. We plan to raise the price at/near full release, reflecting the additional content and improvements added throughout development.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We’ll actively use community feedback to guide updates and priorities:
- Steam Discussions for bug reports, suggestions, and balance feedback
- Discord for announcements, feedback threads, and direct community discussion
- Optional playtests/betas for community members who want to help test changes early
We’ll share updates as we go, track recurring issues, and prioritize the changes that most improve the player experience.”

About This Game

Blood Moon Horror

Blood Moon Horror is a heart-stopping 1–8 player co-op survival horror set in a quarantined lunar research facility—where the blood moon awakens something that hunts in the dark. No weapons. No combat. Only stealth, teamwork, and terror.

You are a rescue team sent to Lunar Base Alpha after three months of silence. The base has become a tomb: intelligent, adaptive extraterrestrial entities stalk the corridors, manipulate ventilation and power, and some even mimic human voices. Work with friends (or strangers) and use nothing but your wits to survive—because every sound could be your last.

About the Game

The year is 2078. What began as humanity’s most ambitious lunar research program has spiraled into an experiment gone horribly wrong. The last transmission from Lunar Base Alpha cut off mid-sentence: "The moon... it's changing. The samples... they're alive. We can't contain—"* [TRANSMISSION ENDED]

Now you’re inside. The life systems are failing. The entities hunt by sound and electricity, slip through vents, and learn from you. Your mission: survive, uncover the truth, restore power, and escape before the blood moon finishes its work.

Key Features

  • 1–8 Player Co-op Survival Horror – Real teamwork matters. Share objectives, coordinate puzzles, and make split-second decisions with friends or public matches. Solo? You can try — but the game is built around cooperation.

  • Proximity Voice Chat & Spatial Audio – Hear teammates (and impostors) as they would sound in the world. Whisper to coordinate or listen for distress through the vents—voice is both tool and risk.

  • No Combat — Pure Survival – There are no guns or forced combat mechanics. Evade, hide, and outsmart predators who react to sound, light, and electrical noise.

  • Advanced Enemy AI – Extraterrestrial hunters with dynamic behaviors: patrols, vent navigation, sound investigation, and voice mimicry. They adapt to your tactics and punish predictable play.

  • Electrical Switch Box Puzzles – Team-oriented puzzles that require timing and precise coordination. Fail, and you’ll attract something that hunts the sound of metal and sparks.

  • Document Collection & Environmental Storytelling – Piece together classified files, logs, and recordings to reveal the base’s tragic past and the origin of the infection.

  • Immersive Atmospherics – First-person perspective, adaptive lighting, and a reactive soundscape build relentless tension in the base’s claustrophobic halls.

  • Progression & Stats – Earn XP by completing objectives and puzzles. Track detailed stats and earn cosmetics to personalize your scientist.

Character Customization

Customize your survivor from multiple scientist variants and unlock skins as you progress. From lab coats to rare designer variants, stand out in the darkness—or try not to be noticed at all.

Gameplay Flow

  • Exploration Phase – Scavenge supplies and clues through a sprawling research facility while the blood moon rises above the base.

  • Survival Phase – Entities awaken and hunt. Move quietly, split tasks smartly, and use the environment to your advantage—sound is your enemy.

  • Investigation Phase – Solve electrical puzzles, restore systems, and collect documents that reveal the base’s experiments and moral collapse.

  • Escape Phase – Race failing life support and hostile intelligence to complete objectives and evacuate. Panic spreads fast—one mistake costs lives.

Content Warnings

Blood Moon Horror contains intense psychological horror: confined spaces, jump scares, disorienting audio, themes of isolation, and scenes designed to unsettle. Proximity voice chat may carry startling sounds. Not recommended for players who are sensitive to horror conventions.
