What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We are a small indie studio and we believe the only way to build a fun game is through community-driven development. Player feedback will help us refine core mechanics, balance entities and configurations and polish the overall experience. Early Access allows us to involve our players closely into the development process.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect the game will remain in Early Access for 12 to 18 months. During this time we will be adding new features and updating existing mechanics on a regular basis.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“There are a number of features that we are planning to include in the full release, but the list is subject to change based on player feedback:
- Multiplayer: From the very start we envisioned Typhon:BvB as a multiplayer experience where players compete with and against each other.
- Campaign Editor: A toolkit allowing players to create their own campaigns and share them with the community.
- Main Story Campaign: There are more missions in the main story campaign and more story to tell about humanity's conquest of Typhon.
”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Currently, the first 20 missions of the single player campaign (out of ~30 planned) have been implemented. All core mechanics are there and while the gameplay loop is enjoyable, we believe it's a bit bare-bones and needs more features, content and polish in order to shine. Multiplayer missions and the campaign editor, that will allow players to create their own maps and campaigns, are still a work in progress.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan for a moderate increase in price as we add new content and features.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We already have a Discord server that we have been using to communicate with our alpha testers. We plan to keep it running and also add forums and polls as means of getting player feedback.

Players will have the opportunity to vote on design decisions, report bugs and submit suggestions, play early builds and more. Community feedback plays a central role in our development strategy. ”

About This Game

Write Python code to control your mechs in tactical combat. Choose their equipment, program their behavior, and watch your strategy play out on the battlefield.

Typhon: Bot vs Bot combines programming with modular mech customization. Your loadout determines what your mechs can do. Your code determines how they act. Observe the results, revise your approach, and put your changes to the test.

Your missions unfold on AEGIS IVb, a distant alien world scattered with ancient ruins, dangerous anomalies, and abandoned outposts.

Thermal zones and varied terrain challenge your mech designs and combat logic. Choose equipment suited to the environment and adapt your Python code to the threats your mechs face.

In Typhon, you write Python code to control your mechs. Programming is part of how you play: the behavior you write shapes how your machines operate in combat.

Develop your combat logic, watch how it performs, and identify what needs to change. A strategy that looks promising in your code may behave differently on the battlefield. Revise your script and test it again to see whether your changes improve the outcome.

The challenge is to make your equipment and programmed behavior work together. A powerful mech still needs effective instructions.

Customize your mechs with components that shape their combat capabilities:

  • Weapons: Choose equipment for ranged attacks or close-quarters encounters.

  • Mobility systems: Equip your mechs to navigate terrain and reposition.

  • Sensors: Improve targeting, tracking, or environmental awareness.

  • Power cores: Support your mech’s endurance, defenses, and advanced systems.

Build your loadout around the strategy you want to program, then refine your code to make use of the equipment you choose.

Join the Typhon community to exchange Python code, discuss combat strategies, and share your mech builds.

  • Discord: Talk with the developers and fellow players, join community events, and find information about Alpha access.

  • Facebook: Follow development news, developer blogs, and community highlights.

  • Reddit: Discuss programming approaches, compare builds, and share what you have learned on the battlefield.
