What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I've been developing this game solo for nearly four years, dedicating myself to crafting a rich, immersive world with layered questlines and engaging content. While there’s still more work ahead to reach the full vision—perhaps a couple more years—I’m driven to make it the best experience possible for players.

Long-term, I hope to grow this project into a small indie studio, bringing on talented developers to help expand the game even further if it proves viable.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I'm aiming for a few years in Early Access, though the timeline may extend depending on the game's success and growth. I have exciting plans to expand the lore and enrich the game world further if there's strong player interest. However, regardless of success, my priority is to deliver a complete storyline with a satisfying ending that stands on its own. Thanks for being part of this journey and for supporting indie game development!”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The game is in a stable, playable state, with core systems like the mini-map, quest and dialogue, and combat fully functional. The foundation of the comedy elements is also solidly in place. There are a few additional features I’d love to add, such as Steam achievements, more weapons, powerups and special moves.

Right now, my focus is on expanding the game with more questlines, jokes, activities, and locations, plus introducing new characters. Many of these elements are already written—I’m just focused on refining the game’s foundations so I can dedicate more time to enriching its world and content.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“I’ve divided the game into four chapters, with Chapter One serving as an introduction to the main storyline and the game’s world. While I’m still adding a few more characters and quests, the core questlines—both main and side—are already in place. Essential gameplay elements like combat, dialogue, quests, and the mini-map are fully functional, so the game is in a playable state with plenty of activities.

Though it’s still a bit barebones, this version offers a solid glimpse into the game’s style, humor, and storytelling, giving you a taste of what’s to come!”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, the plan is to start with a lower price during Early Access, with gradual price increases as new content is added. Currently, I’m considering eight price adjustments with quarterly updates, but this may evolve based on player interest and feedback. My goal is to ensure players feel they’re getting great value as the game grows!”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback is essential to the game's growth, and I plan to make it a central part of development. I’ll be using platforms like Discord for real-time discussions, along with dedicated channels for bug reports, ideas, and suggestions. There will also be an email option for anyone who prefers to reach out that way. Together, we can shape the game’s future and create something truly special!”

About This Game

Bigfoot vs Scots is a dark comedy adventure game that pits Scotland’s quirkiest residents against an unexpected threat—Bigfoot himself. Set on the rugged and remote Scottish island of Amadan, the game follows Ann, a sharp-witted and fiery newcomer who returns after being banished from the island as a child. Determined to prove herself in a community that greets her with suspicion and mockery, Ann finds herself embroiled in a series of bizarre events following Bigfoot’s chaotic arrival. To uncover her family secrets and wield the legendary family sword given to her upon her return, Ann must navigate the challenges of island life with humor and grit.

As Ann struggles to adapt to her surroundings, she uncovers a web of hilariously dark secrets about the island’s eccentric residents. From tracking down stolen sporran balls to surviving the Rusty Badger Pub’s notorious drinking challenges, her journey is as unpredictable as it is comedic. Along the way, Ann encounters a colorful cast of characters, including Rab the Ned, Sedrik the Werewolf, and Alastair, the enigmatic Bigfoot. With its biting humor, rich Scottish culture, and absurd scenarios, Bigfoot vs Scots delivers a twisted tale of survival, redemption, and the occasional monstrous misunderstanding.

Bigfoot vs Scots is the brainchild of a solo developer whose journey mirrors the heartfelt themes woven into the game. Given up for adoption at birth, she grew up navigating questions of identity and belonging, eventually finding her adoptive family and forging deep connections that transformed her life. These experiences of feeling like an outsider, searching for acceptance, and embracing the quirks of newfound relationships deeply shaped the game’s narrative. Just as the protagonist, Ann, seeks to carve out her place on the island, the developer poured her own story into crafting a world where humor, resilience, and connection take center stage. Working tirelessly for years, she built Bigfoot vs Scots as both an expression of her creative passion and a way of exploring the themes of home and community that have defined her life.

The humor in Bigfoot vs Scots is harsh, unapologetic, and not for the faint-hearted, but for those who revel in its dark and biting wit, it promises unforgettable moments of laughter and absurdity that will leave a lasting impression.
