Why Early Access?

“In order to ensure the completeness and the overall fun factor of the game, we think the best thing we could do is to take your feedback and improve the game further before official launch. We think it would be valuable to have players be a part of this very important process!

Brie Parmesan Mysteries is in Early access while we sort out the issues we have with play balance and advanced behaviors. You may notice that our enemies are cats, specifically the cat meowfia and many of the soldiers they employ are not all that bright. We think this truly reflects the state of most cats, however some players may find these enemies deceptively easy to avoid, so we have work to do to make them behave as a challenging enemy soldier might.

All of the Catmafia are really still training to a certain extent. The boss is watching so that when they mess up they get replaced by smarter cats. Really, the game is still being tuned and some of that we can do without patching the game so please keep playing and report the issue to our issues channel so we can adjust and balance the game further

Taking that a step further, we have plans for a clue discovery feature for the game, we’d love to know if players would find that fun. Of all the hidden challenges and clues in the game we are looking to add to the notebook a section for the strange and amazing things Brie finds.

Of course this leads naturally to an achievement system and we plan on adding steam achievements to the game.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Brie Parmesan Mysteries will be released into Early Access on PC and Steam Deck in the first half of 2023. However, the date we leave Early Access is all up to our audience- receiving feedback from you to polish the content and systems of the game will have a huge impact on the first case: The Crimes of Chicatgo.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Full controller support is in the works, slated shortly after the release to Early Access. This will be followed by a Steam Deck version. A demo is in the works as well; it will be free, short sample of the game released toward the end of the Early Access phase.

Throughout Early Access, we will be adding content for our players to explore- hidden areas, Easter Eggs, a new trap system and more!

Everything in the first case will be opened, and brand-new content including cosmetic items will be added in new cases. We will review the balance of the entire game according to the feedback you have given us to provide a helpful guideline to overcome the difficulties experienced during play.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Our Early Access price covers all outlined content leading up to the full release of the game. This includes all characters, locations, and various improvements. Pricing may be different or require additional purchases after launch.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We currently have a straightforward Discord service to allow players to connect with us and provide feedback. We are also looking to connect a Steam discussion forum for player suggestions to get a better sense of what our players want. We are here for your feedback and promise to put all our effort into reflecting that feedback in our game, to make Brie Parmesan Mysteries as enjoyable as possible.
