Why Early Access?

“We decided to release into early access to give us more time to work on all of the new features we wanted to develop and add. We were going to make a full release in April 2023, however, during development we realized this goal was infeasible, and had to settle for an early access release instead to meet our project deadline.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“This game will remain in early access until it reaches a state where myself and the team are satisfied. The project has mostly become a one-man production, with a 2D Artist and former project members occasionally adding in new assets and providing help when needed. It has led to project deadlines being stretched to the point where our original full release plans were obliterated by what new features we wanted to develop and add.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of Lost to Riches will be a much more polished experience compared to it's early access launch, with features such as the ability to fast forward runs to future areas, more upgrades and a handful of new secrets and extras.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is fully playable with a distinct end-point and is mostly feature complete, everything listed in our store description is included within the full game. There is some amount of controller support, though this is actively being worked on and as such some features do not work as intended with a controller.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game will increase in price at launch, with a 25% off discount for the first week after launch.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will be fielding community feedback on Steam Forums, Reviews, and our Twitter feeds, viewing what players are saying, and taking feedback into consideration.”
