What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

Neon Echo is our first Roguelite game. Throughout the development process, we endeavored to incorporate many new elements and mechanics into the game, ranging from distinctive 3D scenes and character models that deviate from the conventional side-scrolling Rouguelite style, to the utility of electrionic music and the innovative “Tempo Battle” gameplay. Early Access is the best way to see whether these ideas are interesting and entertaining enough, and we are looking forward to any feedback from you. We also believe that everyone's opinions and suggestions can help us continuously improve the game and make it better.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The Early Access of Neon Echo will last for at least six months, but right now we're not sure when it will end. Currently, we focus on listening to players' feedback, striving to improve the their gaming experience, and optimizing the game. In addition, we will present our plans on future updates to the game once the EA version becomes available.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“As a Roguelite game, we aim to infuse the full version of Neon Echo with even more unpredictability and excitement. Therefore, we have devised a comprehensive plan to include the following features in the full release:
- New playable characters
- Expand the Neon Record building system, adding multiple new sets of Records
- Add more entries to existing systems such as Rhapsody and Rhythm Launchpad
- Add a fourth chapter map and bosses; complete the story of the first playthrough
- Enable a second playthrough where the difficulty and mechanics will be upgraded
- Update existing systems in the second playthrough”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version of Neon Echo already has abundant content and the value of being replayed. The current version includes:
- 3 challenging chapters, each consisting of a random combination of 400 battlefields and diversified monsters
- 3 playable characters, each with exclusive skills and talents; entirely different combat styles are noted
- An off-battlefield cultivation system that can permanently improve character attributes and enhance their combat abilities
- An NPC Intimacy system. Through gifting, players can upgrade the NPC Intimacy level and obtain Keepsakes for battle supports

The current version of the Build system includes:
- Neon Records, which contains 7 types, each with over 20+ entries for strategic combinations
- Rhapsody, which can change or enhance a character's attack/skill forms with each character owning over 10+ entries
- Rhythm Launchpad, which generates a random 3*3 attribute chessboard each run
- Resonancer Special, which empowers character's different attacks
These systems can produce unexpected abilities or effects depending on the choices and combinations made!”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“As the game content gradually increases, we may raise the price of the final version—but currently, we haven't planned it out. If everything we plan can be implemented in the final version, the amount of content will be more than twice the size of the Early Access version. We also hope to provide players with a game that is worthy their pennies and entertaining enough. Any price adjustment will also be discussed with players and carefully considered before it is made.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We have set up a feedback channel in the game, where players can leave messages via our customer service by pressing Esc → Speech Bubble to enter the feedback interface. At the same time, we will also have someone stationed in the Steam community to follow up on issues and suggestions raised by community players and actively optimize the game. In addition, players can also provide feedback or suggestions through external communities such as Facebook, Twitter, Discord, etc. We will collect them and timely provide our optimization plans. Let's work together to create a more enjoyable game!”

About This Game

Story Background:

The world has been tainted by a corrupting force of “noise”. Those who are exposed to it might become manic, restless, and even transform into monsters.
At the same time, people have discovered that electronic music can resist this transformation and restore people's sanity.
Now, a group of exceptional teenagers will embark on a journey to vanquish the noise and restore peace by utilizing the power of electronic music.

Experience different careers:

The Early Access version contains three careers - Tachi Warrior, Gunner, and Boxer. Each of them has different talents and skills and possesses both “Common” and “Neon” forms, creating different combat experience.

Free Combinations of Builds:

Apart from the 7 factions of Builds in the game, we have "Rhapsody" for attack and skill form transformation, a more flexible in-game Build system called "Rhythm Launchpad", and a challenging gameplay mode named “Schrodinger's Noise” that involves both attribute boosts and debuffs. By mixing these various Build systems, players can enjoy exciting linking reactions and expeirence unique battles.

Random Combinations Battlefields:

Based on the random battlefield design in the 3D side-scrolling Roguelite games, we are presenting you REAL random elements including random events "Blake's Shop" - players will randomly gain a buff or debuff, "Nightmare Speaker" - timed challenges, and various fun mini-games. The game has over 400 battlefields, avoiding monotonous adventures.

Feel the Beats of Electronic Music:

Players can find their own fighting paces following the "electronic music" in the game and decide whether to fight on the beats of the music. If they hit the beats, skills will have unexpected changes. When players enter a special status of "Neonization", the BGM will be replaced with more intense electronic music. Put on your headphones, let music strike you in battle and feel the hype!
