About This Content

The Union Pacific of the 1960s was one of the most remarkable and compelling eras of railroading found anywhere at any time. New, potent second-generation diesels were arriving yet first-generation warriors carried on; Union Pacific’s unique double-diesel “super power” locomotives such as the EMD DD35A and GE U50 were riding the rails; and the railroad’s ever-memorable 8,500-horsepower “Big Blow” gas-turbine-electrics howled through the west.

Now, that extraordinary and unique era comes to life with Wasatch Grade Scenario Pack 01 for Train Simulator Classic!

Wasatch Grade Scenario Pack 01, created by accomplished developer High Iron Simulations, recalls in ten realistic career scenarios the Union Pacific of the 1960s on the rugged Union Pacific Wasatch Grade route stretching between Ogden Utah and Evanston, Wyoming, famous for its scenic passage through Weber and Echo Canyons and daunting climb of the Wasatch Mountains.

With Wasatch Grade Scenario Pack 01, you’ll experience authentic and challenging 1960s Union Pacific intermodal, freight, local, and switching operations, and you’ll take the controls of no less than seven types of locomotives to battle tonnage and Wasatch Mountain grades.

With Wasatch Grade Scenario Pack 01, you’ll experience authentic and challenging 1960s Union Pacific intermodal, freight, local, and switching operations, and you’ll take the controls of no less than seven types of locomotives to battle tonnage and Wasatch Mountain grades.

With Wasatch Grade Scenario Pack 01, you will:

- Climb aboard and take the throttle of Union Pacific’s 5,000-horsepower, eight-axle EMD DD35A to highball a priority Pacific Fruit Express produce train eastward over the full and challenging length of the Wasatch Grade.
- Handle the throttle of a stylish Union Pacific EMD GP30 as you work the Fourth Subdivision’s local eastward with switching work to handle en route to Echo.
- With a UP EMD GP35 on the point, call upon a 15,000-horsepower diesel lash-up to lift a heavy train of Utah-mined coal up and over the summit of the Wasatch Mountains.
- Work a city transfer job through the labyrinth of trackage between Rio Grande’s Ogden Yard and Union Pacific’s Riverdale Yard.
- Highball a hot piggyback train westward on a wintry morning at the throttle of Union Pacific’s gargantuan General Electric U50 double-diesel.
- Call upon a veteran Union Pacific Electro-Motive GP9 to work the Park City Branch local as it makes its way from Echo to Riverdale Yard.
- Aboard a classic set of Union Pacific EMD F7 “covered wagons,” lift a heavy livestock train up the Wasatch’s tough and unrelenting mountain grades.
- Experience taking the throttle of 8,500-horsepower as engineer of Union Pacific gas-turbine-electric (GTEL) No. 1 on an end-to-end eastbound manifest freight run of the Wasatch Grade route.

Experience all the appeal, excitement, and challenges of Union Pacific railroading during the remarkable 1960s – with Wasatch Grade Scenario Pack 01 for Train Simulator Classic!
