About This Game

Mental is a Single-player and Multiplayer horror game, powered by Unreal Engine 5.

Dive in as an employee of a company dedicated to the investigation of paranormal events called Mental. You will have your own office, with the possibility to even create your own home within the Mental facilities.

• The main idea of Mental: The Dark Night is to offer you an immersive visual and auditory experience, so you can plunge into the most realistic experience possible while going through psychological adventures. New stories and new exploration maps will be released often, offering different experiences. All of it connected and set in a psychological horror theme.

  • The plot revolves around a paranormal research company that sends its employees to investigate unexplained phenomena in various dark and mysterious locations.

    • As a player, you take on the role of one of these employees and immerse yourself in a series of terrifying and suspenseful stories.

• Mental has its different stories and exploration maps, which are called contracts. In the headquarters, there is the planning room, where you will find various monitors, including the main monitor and the museum access monitor. These monitors provide access to Mental’s information, your data, and the available modes. These monitors have their own operating system, which will be updated over time.

• The headquarters is the central location where you will find access to training, the available modes, and your employee information. Over time, you will see modifications in the headquarters as it gets updated along with all the contracts.

• Each time you complete a contract, you will level up. Your level can be seen in the headquarters on another monitor. Levels are used to unlock more contracts and more items.

• In each map, there will be hidden rewards and collectibles. Try to obtain them to store them in the headquarters and also unlock Steam Achievements.

• Mental also offers a Multiplayer mode. The multiplayer mode allows you to explore maps or play mini-games with your friends or in public servers.

• Puzzle Solving: Throughout your adventure, in each contract you choose, you will encounter various puzzles that you need to solve in order to progress. These can range from simple riddles to more complex challenges that require observation and logic.

  
  
  
  
  

• Exploration: Players must explore various environments, such as abandoned houses, hospitals, and other dark and mysterious places. Exploration is key to advancing the stories.

• Resource Management: You will need to carefully manage your resources, such as batteries for your flashlight or video camera, and other useful items you find along the way.

  

• Stealth and Evasion: Facing threats directly is not always the best option. Often, you will need to use stealth to avoid being detected by paranormal entities and other dangers.
  
  

  

• Environmental Interaction: You can interact with various objects in the environment to gather information, unlock new areas, or trigger specific events.

  • Multiplayer: Mental also offers a multiplayer mode where you can collaborate with other players to face certain challenges together.

Mental: The Dark Night is currently in early development. Since 2021, its Alpha version has been evolving. At this point, the basic structure (skeleton) of Mental is already built. Currently, development is focused on the story, interactions, techniques, maps, usable items, and more.
