What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“This project is a one-man operation from the start. I have been developing it while at the same time building a small community. Community feedback is very important for some development decisions, so the final game may differ greatly. The community will decide which new features will be top of the list as the game improves and evolves.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Around 16-24 months”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“There are lots of room for improvement at this stage. We plan to implement a totally new rider model based in ragdoll physics. This will add realism and unlock crashes. I think that having a proper crash system would add so much fun and depth to the game.

Other content that we plan to add progressively:
- More mountains with a variety of tracks
- New bikes, riders, helmets and kits to completely custom your looks
- Leaderboards so players can compete online
- Better animations
- Bike tuning
- Championship Series”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Right now we have three tracks, with more to come soon. You can do free laps, or activate the timing and race on them. There is a replay editor that you can use to create video parts with your best shots showing off your skills.

Also there is a Line Editor, so you can find the fastest way from top to bottom.
You will start with a tutorial, that teaches you the controls for pedaling, braking, cornering, jumping, pumping, and all the skills necessary.

The game has lots of replayability. It is very tricky to really go fast, and mastering corners and jumps can take lots of practice, just like in real life.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, the price will increase as the features and content are added.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We have a Discord channel, and a small Beta testers group where players have given lots of feedback. Their input is key. Downhill Pro Racer goal is to be the MTB game that us riders waited for so long. Focused on a realistic experience, with controls that actually matter when riding the track. We all love mountain biking, and with DHPR we will be able to compete from all parts of the world, putting our skills to the test.

So please join the Discord and let's ride together, cheers!”

About This Game

REAL DOWNHILL RIDING
Downhill Pro Racer is a Downhill mountain biking racing simulator. You know DH. It is a fast paced, risk it all race against the clock down the most dangerous natural tracks.
The connection between the rider, the bike and the terrain is essential: one mistake and you are offline into some gnarly rocks.

CONTROL YOUR BIKE
Race down realistic DH tracks while maintaining full control of your bike with controls for braking, jumping, shifting the rider's weight or doing manuals. Follow the lines you previously set to avoid obstacles that can make you crash, and keep your speed high over the turns and technical sections.

PHYSICS BASED WHIPS
In DHPR, when the bike is in the air control is just as important as when the wheels touch the ground. You will be able to whip, scrub and lean your bike as you try to gain those essential tenths of a second. No more pre-animated whips, you just send it!
