What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The game is fully functional and playable from start to finish, but as it is our first multiplayer game, we would like to take extra time testing our network solution with players. The Early Access phase is also a good opportunity to slowly introduce our planned minigames and improve them based on player feedback.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“At least 6 months up to a year.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to introduce more minigames, advantages and cosmetics. We also plan to improve controller support and localize it to more languages.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The whole structure of the party game as referred to in our About This Game section will be fully available but with limited number of minigames. There will initially be 6 brawl games and 3 mind games at the start of Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price may slightly increase after Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We'd love to get player feedback on the minigames that we introduce and are open to ideas from our players about what other kind of minigames we should add. Please post on our Steam discussion page or join our Discord community to share your thoughts!”

About This Game

Eat the Rich is a social deception game inspired by the TV show Survivor. 6 to 10 punished billionaires compete in multiple rounds of brawls and mind games to earn pennies. A player gets voted out at the end of each round!

Vote the Richest Out?

Your wealth is hidden from each other. You must figure out who's the richest and convince other players to vote them out because they will win if they reach the finals! This is a dynamic game. It only takes a few brawl wins and smart choices to jump from poorest to richest. Use your deduction skills to get a good gauge on everyone's ever-changing wealth.

Eliminating the richest may not always be the smartest option. Sometimes, keeping a solid voting ally is more important to ensure your survival. A devious billionaire knows the perfect time to betray a richer ally.

Social Deception

But what do you do once you're the richest? Manipulate and deceive to hide your wealth and avoid becoming the target! Some games split players up into groups, so players will have limited information about you. If you earned a lot, gaslight the others and pretend to be the victim with your fake news version of the events. Maintain your position and reach the finals to win!

Secret Advantages

If all else fails, spend some of your pennies to purchase advantages. These are powerful consumable items that can turn the tide in your favor. Here are some fun examples:

  • Use an Amnesty to erase all votes on you!

  • Use a Scapegoat on another player and if you have the most votes, they will get voted out instead. Scapegoats can chain! If your target also used a Scapegoat, their target will get eliminated instead.

  • You can even skip having to persuade others to vote with you and just steal their vote with a Vote Buying advantage.

  • Announce another player's pennies to everyone by using the Spotlight advantage. When used smartly, this could redirect attention away from you.

  • You can protect yourself from hostile attacks and boomerang the effect back to the user by using a Reflect advantage on yourself.

With all these devious advantages in the game, eliminations can often end with unpredictable results!

Spend wisely. It's always better to survive a vote through sheer convincing power to avoid wasting pennies.

Defectors

Got voted out early? Worry not. You will become a Defector. Defectors can still win by earning pennies in a completely different way. While active players continue competing in challenges, you are unfortunately forced into manual labor of destroying random crates for a penny or two. The pennies you earn here can then be used to influence the ongoing game with powerful temptations! Some examples:

  • Immunity. If a player accepts this offer, they cannot be voted this round.

  • Vote Switcher. A powerful tool that allows the player to switch the votes between two players.

You earn a lot of pennies if a player accepts your offer. Spectate closely to determine which player is more likely to accept your offer. Use their selfishness to your advantage and you might just overtake everyone else in wealth and get a surprise win in the end!

Features

  • Customize your billionaire: Choose from a wide variety of accessories, tops, bottoms! Unlock new skins by winning.

  • 6 Brawl minigames and 3 Mind Games

  • 12 game changing Secret Advantages

  • In-game text and voice chat

  • Cartoony 2.5D art style

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

The game references post-apocalyptic situations where competitors are pitted against each other to the death. There are also references to humans being eaten, but in a light hearted way with cartoony graphics.
