About This Game

Descent Horizon is a 2D physics-based lunar descent and exploration game about piloting a damaged lander, surviving on the surface, and uncovering what went wrong after a catastrophic station explosion.

You are Commander Jackson Middlewood, thrown from orbit after Sagan Station is torn apart. The lander is damaged, autopilot is gone, and the only way down is manual control.

Survive the descent. Touch down safely. Step out onto the lunar surface to search for parts, investigate abandoned infrastructure, and repair what you can.

Then you black out.

You wake mid-fall, descending toward the Moon again.

Then it happens again.

And again.

Systems fail in new ways. Hazards shift. The terrain changes. But the world remembers what came before: debris stays moved, doors remain open, and equipment carries forward between descents.

Something is deeply wrong, and every landing brings you closer to understanding what happened.

Key Features

Manual Lunar Descent

Pilot a fragile low-gravity lander where thrust, rotation, momentum, cargo weight, and landing angle all matter. Recover from crashes, repair damaged systems, and adapt to changing conditions across successive descents onto the lunar surface.

On-Foot EVA Exploration

Leave the lander after touchdown to investigate abandoned facilities, retrieve components, and uncover traces of past activity on the Moon.

LIDAR Terrain Scanning

Use directional scans to read the terrain ahead, locate hazards, search for landing zones, and navigate without a traditional map.

Terminal-Based Systems

Run diagnostics, issue commands, read corrupted logs, and respond to in-flight malfunctions through a diegetic command-line interface.

Repairs, Cargo, and Upgrades

Collected parts affect what you can repair, what you can build, and how the lander handles on future descents.

Environmental Puzzles

Restore power, unlock sealed paths, move physical tools, and route your way through broken lunar infrastructure.

Atmospheric Storytelling

Piece together what caused the explosion — and what’s keeping you trapped — through corrupted logs, cryptic terminals, and the unsettling silence of the lunar surface.

Every loop brings you closer to the truth.
