What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We want Driftwood to be a great game and we think that working with the community is the best way to achieve that. Driftwood already offers a fair amount of content and replay value (four maps at launch), but we have plenty of new levels left to add as we are just two developers. Early Access is the best way for us to realize the full vision of Driftwood and continue to work with our players collaboratively.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to take at least half a year if not more until our full release. The game will be ready for version 1.0 once we feel the amount of content is right - no earlier, no later.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of Driftwood will feature more levels, additional gear and cosmetics. The gameplay and features will remain mostly the same.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“All of our planned core features are completed, like the deep physics simulation, many challenges to achieve, online leaderboards to compete in, longboards/wheels to mix and match as well as cosmetics options.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We have no definitive plans yet, but the price will increase with the launch of the full game.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“You are always welcome to join our Discord server to have a chat and suggest changes or features. We will likely continue to work with a group of test players to develop new features and test new maps.”

“Remember that wonderful TikTok of the dude longboarding and listening to Fleetwood Mac? What if someone took the vibes of that video, built a game around it, and then replaced the human with a cool sloth? Well, that’s basically Driftwood (...)”

About This Game

You think sloths are slow? Well, Eddy is here to prove you wrong.

In Driftwood, you’ll experience high-speed downhill longboarding as an aerodynamic sloth. Drifting is the name of the game, as it’ll help you strike the perfect balance between speed and control. Drift through tight corners to avoid collision with cars and obstacles, and perform wicked tricks as you take in the beautiful landscape around you. These tricks will help you score points, which will unlock new boards that can be combined with various wheels for diverse skating styles.

  • Dream of skating as a sloth? Look no further – Driftwood lets you enjoy flowy longboarding as Eddy, who will acquire new boards, wheels, and clothes that will enhance the experience.
  • Race through beautiful scenery with relaxing music as the backdrop. Focus on vibes and tricks – Driftwood has no story campaign or obligations.
  • Immerse yourself in a contained world – Driftwood is not an open-world game; it’s a focused, minimalist experience.
  • Fun in solo or competitive – Driftwood allows you to skate on your own, beat personal challenges, and reach new milestones, or compare your runs in online leaderboards.
  • Travel to newly unlocked tracks with your van – Driftwood has several locations for you to skate and drift to your heart’s content.

We’re a small team consisting of just one artist and one programmer. We’ve set out to make a game that provides an intense downhill longboarding experience without much fluff, just a focus on drifting and flow. While there are no freestyle skateboarding tricks in Driftwood, we hope you enjoy the content in our game!
