Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect Dig In to remain in Early Access for around 12 months, giving us time to expand content, refine systems, and shape the experience alongside community feedback.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of Dig In is planned to significantly expand both the frontline systems and the human simulation. Players can expect dugouts and tunneling, additional playable factions with faction-specific research trees, gas warfare, medical triage, casualty evacuation, raids, patrols, and air reconnaissance. Soldiers will grow more life-like over time, forming relationships with their comrades and reacting dynamically to the expanding realities of trench warfare.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current Early Access version of Dig In is a closed beta build focused on the core trench warfare experience. Players can dig, fortify, and hold the line, managing squads, logistics, and combat across multiple maps (including Lorraine and St. Vaast).

The core systems are in place and fully playable, but the game is still rough in places. Expect bugs, balance issues, and evolving AI behavior as development continues.

This version represents the foundation of the game, with more content, systems, and polish planned throughout Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to gradually increase the price as we expand the game during Early Access.

Early players are getting in at a lower price while the game is still evolving. As more content, systems, and polish are added, the price will reflect the fuller experience.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We have a robust community of over 5000 members on Discord with a Closed beta running where we collect feedback and engage in discussion with the community on their feedback.
The team also regularly shares Playthroughs of current builds with the idea to share in progress features as we develop Dig In.”

Dig In is THE WW1 Trench Warfare Colony Sim
Dig trenches. Command your men. Hold the line.

The year is 1914. Take up the spade for Germany, Great Britain, the Republic of France, Austria-Hungary, or Imperial Russia, with historically accurate uniforms and upgrades that reflect the war’s evolution. Additional nations and uniforms will expand throughout Early Access.

  • Every soldier under your command has a name, a life before the war, and unique traits. Keep morale high, tend to their needs, and weigh the human costs of every decision.

  • Officers bring unique strengths and flaws based on their backgrounds – from aristocrats raised in privilege to battle-hardened survivors from the ranks.

  • Runners are the lifeline of your command. Every order takes time to deliver, and miscommunication can spell disaster. Need to cancel that attack? Hope the runner makes it in time.

The Trenches are Alive

  • Dynamic Timing: Time is a weapon. Orders take time to arrive, and changing plans requires swift runners and careful planning.

  • Sweat Saves Blood: Expand your trench network, set routes for your men to move where they are least exposed to enemy fire, and shore up your defenses before the enemy flanks you.

  • Poor Bloody Infantry: Balance the need for butter and bullets. Keep your men fed, rested and armed – or watch the fighting spirit of your platoon collapse.
