Evard The Hermit: Through Fears is a 2D action-adventure game set in medieval Europe, and has a rich, original storyline.

Story

Evard has the gift of absorbing other people’s fears, but this takes a toll on his mind; his head starts filling up with other people’s phobias, creating an ever-growing snowball of anxiety and crowding out his own memories. To reclaim his past, Evard will have to come face to face with every fear he has let inside.

On this journey, you will:

• Take on 16 phobias: uncover the source of each fear and help Evard overcome them to clear his mind.

• Piece together the story bit by bit: follow fragments of memory to uncover the mystery of Evard’s origins.

• Explore the world: this journey will take you through the misty swamps of Owlestania, the dense forests of Gardaria, the sweltering south of Flumia and the harsh, snow-covered lands of the Northerners.

Game mechanics

• Sword fights: battles where timing and reflexes are key.

• Stealth: tense moments that require patience. Hide behind cover and wait for the right moment to dash past while the enemy looks away for just a few seconds.

• The Art of Balance: expertly navigate narrow ledges and platforms using maximum concentration.

• Platforming: dynamic sections involving running and jumping in the finest traditions of the genre.

The game world

Throughout the eight years of development, I strove to ensure that every frame in the game felt like a living illustration. Drawing inspiration from the third Witcher and the colourful world of Ori, I created a story set against the atmospheric backdrop of the Middle Ages.

You can look forward to meditative walks accompanied by soothing music, which at any moment may give way to a sword fight or a challenge requiring your utmost focus.
