Miksi Early Access?

We’ve had a great experience working with our community on our previous game and because Heroes of Science and Fiction is our most ambitious project so far, Early Access will allow our small dev team both to get our game to players much earlier and to generally improve it thanks to the invaluable feedback we've been gathering.

Miten kauan peli tulee arviolta olemaan Early Access -vaiheessa?

The EA release will have most of the gameplay features and 3 out of 5 playable races, so we expect about a year to complete the rest, but this will depend on us being sure we have reached a level of polish we can be proud of. The main focus will be on the extensive story campaign.

Millä tavoin lopullinen versio tulee eroamaan Early Access -versiosta?

We plan to launch the EA version with all the important features, but we aim to keep adding more content, not only the remaining playable races and their story campaign. One of the most important features we plan to add will be a map editor with a system for sharing maps via the Steam Workshop. There are also many other planned items on our list, ranging from new abilities to more skirmish maps.

Mikä on Early Access -version tila tällä hetkellä?

We plan to launch into EA with three playable races, one branch of the story campaign and quite a few skirmish maps - for some players this should already be over 30h of content. We’ve been pleasantly surprised by how far we’ve already made it when it comes to polish and stability, but there’s still some room for improvement when it comes to - for example - overall optimization.

Muuttuuko pelin hinta Early Access -vaiheen jälkeen?

We don’t plan to raise the price during the EA period. The price for the full release hasn’t been set yet, but you can consider the game to have a small discount during EA compared to the final price.

Miten yhteisö otetaan mukaan kehitysprosessiin?

The community has been involved since a beta test we ran in late 2023 and through different versions of our public demo. We’ve been gathering and working in feedback from the players the whole time and the game is already much more stable and polished thanks to our active Discord community. We’d love to continue this approach throughout the EA period.

Heroes of Science and Fiction (formerly known as Silence of the Siren) is a turn-based strategy game where several different space-faring civilizations fight over control of a distant star system. Explore what’s left on the planets and secure resources to build mighty cities. Raise powerful armies and defeat your opponents on the battlefield!

Early Access status

Heroes of Science and Fiction now contains 4 playable factions, two campaigns with 4 levels each and 20+ skirmish maps set in colorful environments.

Each faction brings its own base, 7 upgradeable unit types, a special skill and a set of commanders to choose from. There are 24 skills, 41 active commander abilities and various pieces of equipment, consumables and artifacts.

The Siren star system, birthplace of a galactic alliance, and the homeworld of a lost Primals civilization, has been cut from the rest of the galaxy. As a result, the carefully built alliance split into bickering factions and secluded colonies. These days, hardly anyone pays attention to the ruins scattered all over the few habitable planets of a freshly isolated system. The deeper you venture into the uncharted regions, the stronger the feeling of endangerment grows. There is something else. An entity, a shade, an echo of whispers from below.

Explore what's left on the planets and secure important resources. Use them to upgrade your bases with advanced technology and to hire massive armies. Play as several different factions, recruit skilled commanders, teach them new skills and lead them into battle. Overcome obstacles on the map to gather powerful equipment and ancient artifacts.

Encounter a wide range of enemies in turn-based combat, use your tactical thinking to gain advantage on the battlefield. Learn the unique moves of your units, deploy your commander's special abilities and outsmart even much stronger opponents.
