What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Because Lights Out Multiplayer is being developed by one developer, of whom isn't even working full time on the game. It would take ages to make it an entirely bug-free experience, and so I'm choosing to do Early Access so that I can release what I have, whilst knowing that people are to expect a non-polished product, and they are able to help me to shape the game into something really enjoyable and bug-free.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I'm thinking that it'll be in Early Access up until the end of 2023. This is to give me enough time to develop all of the features we're planning (and it's hopefully enough time, considering I don't work full time on my games!).”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I'm going to add more features, such as a wider variety of maps, a story which connects to not only my other games, but also an upcoming "Story Mode" (which will be sold as it's own game) and also potentially more skills and gameplay mechanics. I'm also thinking of adding more game modes, but only time will tell if the community wants me to make more.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current state of the game is a mostly finished version of the game, simply lacking in maps and polish. But other than that, the core gameplay loop is there, and so are most of the final assets.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I'm happy to say that the game will remain Free to Play! This is to allow more people to play the game, and hopefully help to gain a decently big player base that will be willing to help out with ensuring the full release is as bug-free as possible!”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Well you, the player, will be able to report bugs and balancing issues that I need to fix through the game's discussions page! You can also suggest features that you want to see in the game, and I'll try my best to check everyone's recommendations out!”

About This Game

Clock in. Get Out.

Lights Out Multiplayer is a terrifying multiplayer horror game where you and a group of people play as Scientists, entering different sections of the abandoned, dilapidated Atlas Laboratories to collect a bunch of important tools for research... but it won't be easy...

Welcome to Atlas Laboratories

It's been a while, hasn't it? Things have... changed, since you last came around. What was once a shining wonder, has now become a distant memory. Places that were once full of lively scientists and experiments, have now become a toxic, infected wasteland full of people that have turned into monsters.

As an ex-employee at Atlas, you must traverse through the run-down, dreary laboratory to collect tools and parts to figure out and make a cure to help all of the "Afflicted Ones" revert back to people. Unfortunately though, as you progress deeper and deeper, the Afflicted Ones will attempt to desecrate and infect you, and so you MAY have to defend yourself by either killing them or temporarily stunning them, rendering them useless for a little while.

THERE'S MORE TO IT THAN THAT.

  • MULTIPLE, RANDOMLY GENERATED MISSIONS - There are multiple sections of Atlas Laboratories for you to explore, each of which are randomly generated! Enter areas such as the Research Sector, the Gardens, the Infirmary and the Sewage Systems, each with their own assortment of tools and enemies! Every mission also comes with new story titbits and new upgrades for your character!

  • ROUGELIKE PROGRESSION SYSTEM - As you progress through the darkness of Atlas Laboratories, you'll unlock XP which, in turn, allows you to upgrade yourself in many different ways! Upgrades are able to be unlocked by beating each mission, and each upgrade adds more depth to your playstyle, adding to your many playthroughs and shaping unique experiences for you and your friends!

  • HOURS OF FUN - Lights Out Multiplayer's simple, yet gripping gameplay loop and endless missions allow for a lot of fun and replayability, with a unique experience everytime you replay the game! And, with the Early Access nature of the game, it'll be updated with new missions and new content often!

There's more to Lights Out Multiplayer than meets the eye... just don't forget to clock in.
