About This Game

A machine remembers its mission

In a distant part of the universe, a colossal battle was fought on an incomprehensible scale. A small fragment of an automaton warship was torn free and hurled into the void.

Eons later, the fragment awakens. Its hull is shattered, its systems are failing, and the battle is impossibly far away—but its final directive remains intact.

Regen Protocol... initiated.

Regen Protocol is a single-player space strategy and ship-building game about reconstructing a machine from drifting wreckage. Gather resources, expand your vessel one module at a time, develop an autonomous drone fleet, and recover the technology needed to cross the stars.

Build a Ship from the Wreckage

Construct your vessel on a three-dimensional grid around its surviving core. Every module becomes a physical part of the ship. Add storage, research facilities, drone bays, repair systems, weapons, defensive technology, and eventually the machinery required for interstellar travel.

Your ship begins as a vulnerable collection of components. How it grows and which systems receive your limited resources, is up to you.

Command an Autonomous Drone Fleet

Build specialist drones that operate around your ship:

  • Salvage drones recover useful material from passing wreckage.

  • Tractor drones slow and retrieve fast-moving objects.

  • Mining drones break apart asteroids and collect minerals.

  • Weldwing drones repair damaged modules.

  • Warwing drones intercept hostile craft.

Expand your support infrastructure to field larger fleets and unlock heavyweight versions of your most important machines.

Research, Adapt, and Automate

Recovered resources fuel an interconnected research tree. New discoveries unlock modules, tools, tactical information, automated behaviours, and protocols that change how your ship and its drones respond to the world.

Choose which capabilities to develop first. Greater awareness may reveal new opportunities, while investments in mining, repair, defence, or firepower can determine whether the ship survives long enough to use them.

Explore a Strange and Hostile Universe

Build a Gravpulse Module and use the Stellar Map to travel beyond your starting location. Investigate drifting caches, asteroid fields, derelict structures, alien stations, unusual transmissions, and other encounters scattered across space.

Trade recovered junk and collectible Galaxion cards with different cultures. Purchase new research and coordinate signatures, meet alien factions, recruit bounty hunters, and add their capabilities to your growing fleet.

Survive Escalating Battles

Hostile machines will test the vessel you have constructed. Combine automated weapons, combat drones, guided ordnance, stasis technology, shields, and repair systems to protect its vulnerable modules.

Later encounters include boss-scale machines built from individually destructible systems. Research their construction, set targeting priorities, and disable their weapons, shields, engines, and support machinery before destroying their cores.

Return to the Battle

Progress from a nearly helpless fragment to an interstellar machine surrounded by drones, weapons, and accumulated knowledge. Your ship, resources, research, discoveries, and configuration persist as its journey continues.

Distance is irrelevant. Time is irrelevant. The ship has one mission.
