Magnificent, rugged, and demanding, those are but a few of the words that describe BNSF’s historic Stevens Pass route across the Cascade Mountains! And now, you can take the throttle for contemporary and challenging BNSF railroading across the Cascades in Stevens Pass Scenario Pack 01.

Today known as the Scenic Subdivision of rail giant BNSF, the route crosses the spine of the Cascades as it extends 154 route miles from Wenatchee, via Everett, toward Seattle, Washington. With ruling grades of 2.2 percent in each direction and keynoted by 7.8-mile-long Cascade Tunnel, the tough but beautiful route is today a bustling conveyor of priority intermodal traffic, vehicle trains, and manifest freights, as well as host to Amtrak’s Empire Builder.

Stevens Pass Scenario Pack 01, from accomplished developer High Iron Simulations, brings dynamic BNSF railroading to the popular Train Simulator Classic Stevens Pass route with ten new and authentic career scenarios.

With Stevens Pass Scenario Pack 01, you’ll experience realistic and challenging intermodal, freight, local, and switching operations, and you’ll take the controls of five types of modern diesel locomotives to battle tonnage and daunting Cascade Mountain grades.

Stevens Pass Scenario Pack 01 features the experiences of operating some of the highest priority trains in America. With Stevens Pass Scenario Pack 01, you will:

• Handle the priority, fast-paced movements of BNSF transcontinental double-stack intermodal traffic calling upon the horsepower of high-horsepower diesel locomotives.
  
• Make an end-to-end run of the historic line with a heavy westbound manifest freight that will your challenge your abilities with both throttle and brakes as you ascend and descend 2.2 per Cascade Mountain grades.
  
• Grind westbound from Wenatchee toward the line’s 2,883-foot elevation summit with a hot, high-tonnage vehicle train.
  
• Operate heavy BNSF trains and tonnage employing head-end and DPU (distributed power unit) motive power.
  
• Work three BNSF local freights such as the noted “Spud Local” and handle complex switching assignments.
  
• Step aboard a pair of veteran BNSF EMD SD40-2s at famed Skykomish, Washington to work helper duty on the daunting and remote west slope of Stevens Pass.
  
• Climb into the cab and engineer’s seat of BNSF ES44DC, Dash 9-44CW, SD70ACe, SD40-2, and GP38-2 diesels.
  
• Witness the constant bustle of this transcontinental rail route that is alive with BNSF, Amtrak, and run-through diesel power of other North American railroads.
