About This Game

Immerse yourself in an industrial metropolis on the threshold of the 20th century and solve four exciting murder cases as Detective Joseph Kreiser.
Casebook 1899 is a classic point-and-click adventure with a few special features. You control detective Joseph Kreiser, who examines objects, questions witnesses and interrogates suspects. You have an inventory of items that you can combine with each other and with the game world, talk to other characters and solve environmental puzzles.

Look for clues

Scrutinise the beautifully hand-pixellated scenes for clues. The scenes are faithful recreations of a German boomtown in the late 19th century and brought to life by handcrafted animations.

Interrogate suspects and witnesses

You will meet many people in your investigations. Are they witnesses? Or are they suspects? You will have to find out by interrogating them. But first you have to get them to talk to you!

Use your notebook

You are recording all your observations and witness statements in your notebook to review at a later time. Each scene has its own page in your notebook to make it easy to find what you're looking for.

Draw your own conclusions

By combining clues in your notebook you unlock new conclusions on your deduction board. Decide for the correct explanation of the facts to find the right culprit between multiple suspects.

Choices matter

Depending on who you decide is the culprit in each of the four cases the games ending changes, making this story truly a test of your deductive skills! A sharp eye and an alert mind are your strongest weapons in the fight against crime.
