Leaving Early Access: 2026

Note: The last update made by the developers was over 19 months ago. The information and timeline described by the developers here may no longer be up to date.
What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Since the beginning of 2024 the project has been completely rebuilt into a much smoother and visually appealing game experience.
Early Access is a perfect way to receive support, both feedback and money wise, while continuing to build up a community of interested players during this development phase.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Instead of releasing the three chapters one at a time as we initially said, we've changed our plans. As we've already announced, we'll be merging all three into one game. This will take longer for the final release, but the overall quality will be better.
The Early Access will stop with the full release of the game that will happen during 2026.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We've been working a lot lately, and we can say that the final version of the game will feature smoother gameplay with improved animations and character enhancements. The same goes for the game environment, with much more variety, brighter colors and new items to find. Also we are adding new gameplay features (like the puzzles addition), refined dialogues, additional cutscenes, a full user interface with many panels, a complete working inventory, an item and Nordic culture log, and much more. We also contacted a fantastic sound designer to bring more depth to the game with unique sounds and we are proceeding in creating original in game musics with another music composer.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current build includes enough parkour movements alongside the introductory section of the first chapter set in the mountains of old Scandinavia, meant to familiarize the player with the gameplay, which also contains a few hidden collectibles.
There are the basics of the game's story and also some objects which the player can interact with, all of them with a narrative and often a gameplay purpose, inspired by Norse and pre-Viking culture. Handcrafted sounds are placed in game to create the right atmosphere while discovering the preview of this ancient land.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We will only increase the price few months before the full release of the game by approximately 30%. Players who buy the game now will have access to the complete game without the need for further payment.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The main discussion channels are the Steam community board and the Discord server, but additional communities can be found in the socials section of Project Utgardr site.
Everyone is welcome to write any idea, bug reports and general feedback. The game has also a support email: tronusgameshelp@gmail.com. We will do our best to take into account all of it and apply changes to the game in accordance to players need. Thanks in advance for supporting this project and the TronusGames team.”
