What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Since last year's update the project has been completely rebuilt into a much smoother and visually appealing game experience.
Early Access is a perfect way to receive support, both feedback and money wise, while continuing to build up a community of interested players during this development phase.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to fully release the first chapter of three at the end of 2024, with the remaining two to be scheduled for a 2025 release. The Early Access will stop with the release of the first chapter.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The basic gameplay will, of course, be largely the same, just more polished. The first chapter will proceed with the introduction of the forgotten tale and the other mysteries of these ancient mountains, will reveal new parkour content and few lore regarding the Norse people. From the second chapter, we will add new environments to practice Thyra's parkour skills in, a new mechanic in the form of puzzles and other secrets that would be better to not write here.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current build includes enough parkour movements alongside the introductory section of the first chapter set in the mountains of old Scandinavia, meant to familiarize the player with the gameplay, which also contains a few hidden collectibles.
There are the basics of the game's story and also some objects which the player can interact with, all of them with a narrative and often a gameplay purpose, inspired by Norse and pre-Viking culture. Handcrafted sounds are placed in game to create the right atmosphere while discovering the preview of this ancient land.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We will slightly increase the current price for the release of the first chapter, and each time a new chapter is released. Players who buy the game now will have access to future chapters without the need for further payment.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The main discussion channels are the Steam community board and the Discord server, but additional communities can be found in the socials section of Project Utgardr site.
Everyone is welcome to write any idea, bug reports and general feedback. The game has also a support email: tronusgameshelp@gmail.com. We will do our best to take into account all of it and apply changes to the game in accordance to players need. Thanks in advance for supporting this project and the TronusGames team.”

About This Game

Project Utgardr is a first-person parkour platform adventure inspired by Norse and pre-Viking culture.

Adventuring amidst the mountains of her homeland, Thyra finds a fissure that mysteriously appeared on a cliff face and a hidden passage that crumbles behind her as she passes through it.

Thyra, now trapped in uncharted territory and searching for a way home, quickly gets her bearings in the arduous environment using her climbing abilities, discovering timeworn engravings and weathered altars.

Coming across an ancient, forgotten tale, Thyra discovers her role in it and follows its fragments to reveal its secret.

ᚱ - The unexpected journey of a young woman.

Explore breathtaking landscapes and perilous precipices on a homeward journey after being suddenly stranded in a forgotten corner of ancient Scandinavia.

ᚱ - Intuitive parkour and platforming.

Take advantage of Thyra’s parkour abilities to traverse the crumbling road. Sprint through various environments and overcome different obstacles.

ᚱ - Flashes of Norse culture.

The ancient runes carved on the hidden crags point towards the right path and abandoned shrines built by an old Norse civilization centuries ago.

ᚱ - Unseen forces guide you.

Follow shards of a lost myth chiseled into the face of the mountain and discover its secret. Locate strange glowing flowers and pray to the Horgr scattered all over for a safe haven. Something seems keen to help you on this journey…
