Why Early Access?

“We'd like to get feedback from players on the core mechanics of Blacktop Hoops and early game modes.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to be in Early Access until we have released a limited version of single player and multiplayer. This is likely to be towards the end of 2022. We'll be tweaking game modes based on community feedback.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version of the game will include five modes. These will be released consecutively.

1. Play Mode - Play against unique dynamic AI opponents with 4 different difficulties.
2. Practice Mode - Hone your dribbling, shooting, and dunking skills on your own private court.
3. Shooting Training Mode - Try to score as many shots as possible. Perfect for improving your shooting skills.
5. Online Park - Hang out and play around with other players in shared open lobbies.
6. Ranked Matchmaking - Climb the leaderboard and earn collectibles in ranked competitive 1vs1 play.

The full game will have a full single player campaign with 12 AI opponents, several additional training modes, online ranked 1vs1, 2vs2, and 3vs3 multiplayer, 3 unique environments, a complete 12 song original soundtrack, and over 100+ sneaker collectibles.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current demo has a single AI opponent with four difficulties. It also has a shooting training mode and practice mode game modes. There are also over 20 unlockable sneakers in the current demo. We also have a level progression system up to level 75.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Phase 1 of our Alpha will be released for free. We plan to gradually increase price when we ship the Beta version of our game on Early Access which will include single player and multiplayer modes.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan on working with the community here and in our Discord and other social channels to improve our mechanics and to continue adding additional features to create the world's best VR streetball game. Follows us on our social channels and feel free to share clips!
