Miksi Early Access?

Notmads is a large and ambitious project that began development in 2021. Building a world of this scale, along with deep progression systems, exploration, quests, and interconnected gameplay mechanics, requires significant time and iteration to achieve the intended level of quality.

The Alpha Early Access release is planned to include the full implementation of the game’s main core mechanics and gameplay loop. Players will be able to experience a complete first island that introduces the early chapters of the story, its lore, and gradually teaches all major gameplay systems. After progressing through the initial main quests and unlocking the core mechanics, players will be free to explore the island in an open-world experience and engage with the main gameplay loop at their own pace.

During Early Access, development will focus on expanding content, introducing additional mechanics, replacing placeholder art with final assets, improving balance, enhancing performance, adding quality-of-life features, and refining the overall experience based on community feedback. Player support during this period directly helps fund continued development and plays an important role in shaping the final version of the game.

We currently expect Notmads to remain in Early Access for approximately ~2 years. This timeframe allows us to expand the world with new regions, quests, features, and progression systems while continuing to polish and refine existing mechanics.

Our priority is delivering a high-quality and complete experience rather than rushing development. The timeline may evolve depending on the scope of improvements and feedback received during Early Access.

The Early Access version is planned to include the fully implemented core gameplay systems and a complete first island with its main storyline arc. The full version will expand significantly beyond this by adding additional regions, continuing the main narrative, introducing new gameplay mechanics, and expanding progression systems.

Throughout Early Access, the game will receive regular updates that may include new content, new mechanics, improved systems, performance optimizations, quality-of-life improvements, balance adjustments, and visual upgrades. Placeholder art currently used in some areas will gradually be replaced with final high-quality assets.

Even after the full release, Notmads is planned to continue receiving updates, including additional side content, world expansions, and ongoing improvements.

The game is currently in active development and approaching Alpha readiness. Most core systems are already implemented or in advanced stages of development. The Early Access release is planned to include a fully playable first island containing the introduction to the game’s story, core mechanics tutorials integrated into gameplay, and the main gameplay loop.

Players can expect a structured early progression experience that transitions into open-world exploration once key mechanics are unlocked. Current gameplay length is estimated to provide roughly ~10 hours of guided and exploratory content, with replayability through open-world activities and progression systems.

Some visual elements and assets are still placeholder and will be replaced throughout development.

Yes. The price of Notmads is planned to gradually increase as new content, features, and improvements are added during Early Access. Players who join earlier will benefit from a lower entry price while supporting ongoing development.
