Why Early Access?

“Notmads is a long-term project that has been in development since 2021. It’s a big game with a lot of systems that need time to grow and improve.
Early Access lets players jump in early, try the core gameplay, and help shape how the game evolves.
The current version focuses on the main gameplay loop and core systems. You’ll be able to explore the first island, play through the early part of the journey, and then continue freely at your own pace.
Most of the island is open, but some parts like a few dungeons, story moments, and points of interest are still being worked on and will be added during Early Access.
During this time, development will focus on adding new content, improving existing systems, polishing the experience, and replacing placeholder visuals. Feedback from players will play a big role in how the game develops.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The current plan is for Notmads to stay in Early Access for around 2 years.
This may change as development continues. The goal is to take the time needed to expand the world, improve systems, and deliver a complete experience.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Early Access includes the core gameplay systems and the first island.
The full version will expand on this with more islands, new regions to explore, and a continuation of the main journey. New content will be added throughout Early Access, along with improvements to systems, balance, and overall quality.
The goal is to grow the world over time, while refining what is already in the game. Some current assets are still placeholders and will be replaced as development continues.

Even after the full release, Notmads is planned to continue receiving updates, including additional side content, world expansions, and ongoing improvements.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is currently in an Alpha state.

Most core systems are already in place, and the main gameplay loop is fully playable. The Early Access version includes the first island with its early progression, tutorials integrated into gameplay, and open-world exploration once key mechanics are unlocked.

You can expect several hours of content, with more being added over time.

Some areas, features, and visuals are still in development and will continue to improve during Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. The price will increase over time as new content and improvements are added. We plan to raise the price during Early Access, and again at full release.
Players who join early get the game at a lower price and support its continued development.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback is an important part of development.
Updates are shared regularly, and players can give feedback, report issues, and suggest ideas. There is also a Discord server where players can discuss the game directly and follow development more closely.
Feedback from players helps guide what gets improved and what comes next.”
