Miksi Early Access?

Between Two Stars is an online game, built around a procedurally generated world. The mechanics and structure of it are such that it's relatively easy to add new mechanics, expand the world and create both new content but also new gameplay scenarios. As with any good indie multiplayer game though, a community is essential, a base of people who love it as much as those who created it. Early access allows us to find those people, bring them in early and give their feedback real weight.

Miten kauan peli tulee arviolta olemaan Early Access -vaiheessa?

This game will most likely be in early access for the next year (through to March 2023), as we introduce larger and more complex mechanics.

Millä tavoin lopullinen versio tulee eroamaan Early Access -versiosta?

Core mechanics are already in place within BeTwSt, but among a number of major mechanics we'd like to introduce that are still missing is starship crews - allowing players to recruit crews to improve their ship and its performance.

Additional content such as new crafting recipes, and a fuller set of class missions are still to come. Larger meta-mechanics such as spheres of influence, trading routes and more macro-economic structures are also planned.

Mikä on Early Access -version tila tällä hetkellä?

The game includes the core mechanics detailed in the product description. The ability to jump ships and explore, harvest material using probes (and some harvesters), and the ability to craft new items to improve the performance of your ship.

Muuttuuko pelin hinta Early Access -vaiheen jälkeen?

We do not plan to increase the price of the main software, however, as we better understand the cost of providing continued online support, we may introduce a freemium model for online access that affects duration of play per day/week/month, or access to certain mechanics.

Miten yhteisö otetaan mukaan kehitysprosessiin?

BeTwSt already has integrated bug reporting and feature tracking, so that users can feedback their ideas. Reporting bugs and suggesting features will attract in-game rewards such as credits. I've also setup a community discord, with the aim of providing direct access to myself, and a direct email inbox. As the community grows and the popularity (or lack thereof) of the game grows, we may look to have regular video calls with the community to discuss their interests, sense of direction and ambitions for BeTwSt.
