Development Status

FFN: EVE technically launched as a full release, but in practice it remains an unfinished game in a state similar to Early Access.

We did consider Early Access. Steamworks requested revisions to our draft, but we were aiming to release the game on Christmas Eve and did not have enough time to complete the revision process. As a result, FFN: EVE launched without the Early Access label, and we continue to add the content we originally planned.

As of September 2026, the game is roughly 35% complete story-wise. Counting all planned content, we're closer to 20% complete.

FFN Eve, the prequel to Flaming Friday Night, is a Horror Noir Action RPG. Follow Rose and Pandu from a Christmas party turned nightmare to the frozen wilderness of Lumainaho, where killers, creatures, locals, and problems await.

COMBAT

Fight in real time using melee weapons or firearms, mixing walking, running, and dashing to avoid enemy attacks. Accuracy, evasion, critical hits, and headshots all play a role in combat. A firearm headshot instantly kills most regular enemies and deals heavy bonus damage to bosses. The combat can feel quite challenging at first. Your Kill/Death ratio is also tracked.

SURVIVE

Defeat horror-movie enemies like a Santa-masked slasher, a giant teddy bear killer, pizza-chewing crocodiles, ghost-costumed maniacs with mauls, and more. In snow-covered outdoor areas, Frost gradually drains Rose's HP and reduces her movement speed. Build up Frost Resistance through food, clothing, campfires, and other means. HP can be recovered in many ways, including sleeping, resting by a campfire, eating food, using First Aid Kits, taking a bath, and leveling up.

GROW STRONGER

Defeat enemies to earn XP and level up. Certain interactions and non-combat activities can also improve some of Rose's attributes. Collect Gold Powder and use it to strengthen the weapons you want to keep using. There are Perks, too.

ITEMS, FOOD, AND ECONOMY

Items include ammunition, First Aid Kits, money, weapons, apparel, accessories, quest items, books, materials, and more. Pizza and the hearty dishes are more than simple healing items. Food can temporarily improve stats and effects such as Strength, Agility, Endurance, Sanity, and more. Bring certain items to the right people to get special dishes made, or exchange them for bounty rewards. Defeat Raid Bosses, collect their unique currencies, and exchange them for rare and unusual items.

EXPLORE THE WILDS OF LUMAINAHO

After the opening slasher sequence, Rose and Pandu travel to the State of Lumainaho. Use the warm and relatively safe village of Huckletwain as a place to rest before venturing farther into Whispering Sunrise Forest. Your journey will gradually take you through snow-covered woods and creeks, darker stretches of forest, and other places throughout the region. Huckletwain itself has a gun shop, an inn, merchants, campfires, and more. Get to know the locals and take part in their stories in a variety of ways.
