Why Early Access?

“Taking Omi to Early Access was a decision made for two reasons. Firstly, it allows us to do a more episodic styled story without having to release each episode as a separate game. Secondly, Omi Oh My AI is a unique game in that it is inspired by games such as Frog Fractions, Pony Island, Doki Doki Literature Club, and I Love Bees. Early Access allows us to tell a more interactive story that has the potential to be influenced by players in the long term, while also building out a larger narrative that can be enjoyed for all time - whether you were there from Day 1 or Day 1000.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect Omi to be in early access for a year to two years, with patches released to expand the narrative and game length every few months. EverySecond Studio is made up of a team of developers that all work full time for other businesses. All of the tools are present for us to develop the game to the scope that we desire, it is more a matter of time and a question of how much disruption is caused on the project by our work.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full final release of Omi Oh My AI will fulfill a narrative arc that is only just getting started while the game is in early access. In addition to expanding upon and completing the story we want to tell, we also intend to add more music, accessibility features, and difficulty settings,”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The full first act of Omi Oh My AI is available to play in the early access version, encompassing over 100 unique CAPTCHA themed puzzles and transmedia content.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We want to reward and encourage people to pick up Omi in early access to get to enjoy the interactivity of the developing story. As such, the game will be discounted until its full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We expect to be hearing from the community through the Steam forums to be taking on board reasonable requests for features that fall in line with our development goals. Omi's unique nature means the community will have the chance to influence the story and where it goes in the long term.”
