What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Due to time constraints, we have not been able to do enough playtesting on different systems. We would like to open early access to allow players to explore the game and submit feedback about the quality of the game for educational purposes and help us to ensure its functionality on multiple systems.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“3-6 months”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We are adding more key details into the game including environmental sounds and actions for engagement, alongside adding other products and workplace accidents that may occur. With feedback from more players, we will know how to modify this game to ensure its viable success for education.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Currently, the game offers up to 20-30 products, which appear randomly in three environments as well as three accidents (eye contamination, body contamination, and fire).”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Price will rise after we leave early access as we ship new content and features.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“As this is developed to be an educational tool, we need industries and educational institutions to verify our academic viability in this product. We are hoping to have individuals who utilize WHMIS 2015 training in their workplaces or academic settings play the game and provide feedback to inform whether or not this product has the capacity to help broaden understanding and learning for this course.”

About This Game

Disclaimer: This game is intended to be an extension of the learning achieved in WHMIS 2015 and is in no way meant to replace the learning required for certification. The intent behind the design of this game is to help individuals apply their learning to develop stronger conceptual understanding of referencing an SDS sheet in the workplace.

This game allows players to deepen their understanding of WHMIS 2015, in alignment with the Globally Harmonized System, by taking the time to apply their learning. Players will learn to read through Safety Data Sheets to properly sort and organize products given to them by their robot helper named Glitch. However, Glitch is very clumsy and does not follow safe practices. The player will need to manage eye and body contaminations from spills when Glitch has accidents and put out fires started by Glitch’s mechanics by learning how to use a fire extinguisher.

The game has three different working environments: the laboratory, warehouse, and construction site. Each of these environments offers a different array of products to practice storing. The gameplay length can be modified from 5 to 30 minutes to ensure students can use this in an educational setting or it can be utilized for corporate training. The game includes tutorials to help the player learn all of the functions of the game and the required WHMIS training to complete the game.

Virtual Reality training has been proven to help build real-life skills and prepare workers for the types of situations they may encounter in their workplaces. WHMIS 2015 VR allows players to prepare themselves to safely handle products in their workplace and broaden their understanding of WHMIS 2015 courses. This game is a great addition to the 1 hour WHMIS 2015 course. Bring learning off the page and into an immersive environment with practical skill training with WHMIS 2015 VR.
