What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Early Access gives us the opportunity to gather feedback from the community and improve the game together. Dancing Cube is still evolving, and we want players to help shape its direction.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We don’t have a fixed timeline — we want to take the time to do it right. Dancing Cube will remain in Early Access as long as needed to reach the level of quality we’re aiming for.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“During Early Access, we plan to add new content, features, and improvements, including:

  • A Creative Mode that lets players design and share their own levels
  • 3 to 6 additional levels, each based on original music composed by us
  • New powers to expand gameplay variety
  • More Steam Achievements to challenge and reward players
  • Enhancements to existing game modes, plus new modes
  • Improved UI and overall user experience
  • Linux and Mac support — currently, the game is Windows-only, but we aim to expand to more platforms depending on demand, development time, and market potential
  • New supported languages — we plan to add French, German, and Chinese first, with the possibility of more based on community interest

We also plan to integrate the best ideas and features suggested by the community whenever possible.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Dancing Cube currently includes 7 levels and three game modes, with four levels added since the start of Early Access. You can play solo or with friends locally or via Steam Remote Play Together. An online leaderboard tracks best times in Infinity mode, and Creative mode lets you build and play custom levels.

Game Modes:
  • Playlist – Complete all levels in sequence
  • Infinity – Survive as long as possible with one life (with online leaderboard)
  • Multiplayer – Play with friends locally or online via Remote Play

We plan to improve existing modes, introduce new ones, and add more multiplayer settings like power frequency, power selection, number of lives, and music speed.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, the price will increase after Early Access.
Players who join during Early Access will benefit from a lower price as a thank-you for supporting the game early.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We’ll be using our Discord server, Google Forms, and the Steam forums to gather feedback and discuss the game with the community. We warmly encourage players to share their ideas for improvements and report any bugs they encounter — your input will help shape the future of Dancing Cube.”

"Dancing Cube" is a multiplayer musical bullet-hell, where players must avoid red obtacles in a giant 3D cube that deforms to the rhythm of the music. Play in solo modes or challenge your friends to see who handles the beat better.

Single or multiplayer

Play alone or with up to 4 players, locally or using Steam's "Remote Play Together" feature.

Game modes

There are 2 modes to play alone and 1 game mode to play in multiplayer.

"Playlist": In this single-player game mode, you have an infinite number of life points, but you lose points each time you get hit, which will affect your final score. The objective is to succeed in completing all the levels by obtaining the best possible score.

"Infinity": In this single-player game mode, you only have one life point and your goal is to survive as long as possible. Be careful, because the speed of the music increases every 15 seconds, which has the effect of increasing the difficulty at the same time. Your best time is saved at the end of each game in an online scoreboard. You can then compare your ranking with your friends and other players.

"Multiplayer": In this multiplayer game mode, you can play with 2 to 4 players. All players have infinite life points, but lose points each time they get hit, which will affect their final score. Powers, like shockwaves, will appear all over the cube to make the game a little more interesting. It is possible to steal a player's power by jumping on their head.

Creative mode

Create custom levels using the Creative mode and let your friends test them.
