Why Early Access?

“First Dwarf is an idea that was born during the development of Driftland. We wanted to create something new, unique and fresh. This project is very close to our hearts and we deeply care about the universe whereas it takes place. Involving the community in Early Access is very important for us, as we want to make the game with the players. After the Playtests, we’ve become even more convinced that we want to co-create the game together with YOU and the rest of our awesome community. We’ve received a huge amount of great suggestions, which we have already implemented and will continue to implement in future versions.

We believe that Early Access is a powerful tool that allows the players to give us the invaluable feedback needed in the development of First Dwarf. We already have very pleasant experiences with making some of our other games available in Early Access - every single one of them always benefits from the honest communication between gamers and our team. It’s incredibly helpful and provides the best directions, changes and improvements, which leads to the outcome that all of us are happy with.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We’re aiming for approximately no more than 18 months before releasing the final version. Stated time we spend on updating First Dwarf may change according to the received feedback from the community. We’ll be implementing the changes needed for the full release of the game and leaving Early Access when both us and players will be content with the final look of our title.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Current version lacks all of the quests needed to complete the game, as well as more polished and tweaked co-op mode. Adding more islands and content, such as missions and their components, listening to the feedback and implementing it, so the story we introduce at the very beginning can be expanded and eventually be finished, is our main goal. Along the way, we are going to fix all the bugs found by both us and the gamers themselves to disqualify the possibility of any problems occuring during the final launch.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Early Access already provides the core mechanics, core coop systems, and interesting gameplay: exploring the world of floating islands, gathering resources, building colonies with various structures, experimenting with defense mechanisms, such as different turrets that help us with battling our enemies, not only in close combat and changing through characters, each of them having unique abilities and getting to know their stories. Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price for Early Access is lowered in comparison to the Full Release. We’re taking replayability and all the additional content added during this period in account.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We’ve always been keen on receiving feedback from our community. We’ve already had two rounds of Playtests on Steam and we want to continue them. We asked about players' opinions and their voices were heard! All the new discussions and suggestions were deeply analyzed by our team and implemented, if deemed a benefit to the game as a whole. By working closely with our community on Discord, Steam and social media, we managed to heavily improve the game. And we’d love to continue to do so, the involvement of the players before the final launch is absolutely a must for us, we can’t wait to hear what you all will come up with while playing First Dwarf. We want to create an awesome game together with you!”
