What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Memori's core precision platforming mechanics are complete and the game is fully playable, but features like our leaderboard and ghost racing systems genuinely benefit from real player data and community feedback. Precision platformers also live or die by their level design - having a larger player base helps us identify difficulty spikes, pacing issues, and refinement opportunities that only become apparent with actual player experiences.
We're using Early Access to complete remaining features (in-game editor, additional rooms, skin selection) based on player input rather than assumptions. This approach lets us build lasting relationships with our community and create something better together while maintaining full transparency about our development process and timeline.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We estimate 8-16 months for Memori's Early Access period. This timeline allows us to complete the remaining major features (in-game editor, additional rooms, and skin selection systems) while incorporating player feedback from the leaderboard and ghost racing systems.
The range accounts for the iterative nature of development - if player feedback reveals areas that need more attention or requests features that would significantly improve the experience, we want the flexibility to address those properly. Conversely, if the community response helps us prioritize effectively, we may be able to move toward 1.0 sooner. We're committed to not rushing the transition just to hit an arbitrary deadline.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version includes all core precision platforming mechanics, the main campaign, leaderboards, and ghost racing features. For the full version, we're planning to expand the experience with several major additions:
Content creation tools: An in-game level editor would allow players to create and share their own precision platforming challenges, potentially extending the game's lifespan significantly beyond the base campaign.
Expanded content: Additional rooms and level variations could provide more diverse challenges and extend the core experience. We're also exploring expanded customization options like skin selection systems that would let players personalize their experience.
Community-driven improvements: Based on Early Access feedback, we may refine existing systems, add quality-of-life features, or expand on elements that resonate most with players. The leaderboard and ghost racing systems could see additional modes or features depending on how the community engages with them.
Our goal is to evolve Memori from a solid precision platformer into a more complete package that serves both players who want polished campaign content and those who enjoy creating and sharing their own challenges.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The core precision platforming gameplay is fully complete and polished. Players can experience the entire main campaign with all movement mechanics, level progression, and core game systems working as intended.
The leaderboard and ghost racing features are implemented but still undergoing refinement based on testing. These online systems function but may see improvements to stability, user experience, and feature completeness during Early Access. The skin manager for player customization and the in-game level editor are not yet included in the Early Access build - these represent the major missing features planned for the full version.
Essentially, you're getting the complete core game experience with competitive elements in development, while content creation and customization tools are still in progress. The game is fully playable from start to finish, but the community and creative features that extend beyond the base campaign are where we're focusing our continued development efforts.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to gradually raise the price as we ship new content and features. Early Access supporters will get the game at its lowest price point, with the cost increasing as we add major features like the in-game level editor, expanded customization systems, and additional content.
This approach rewards players who support the game during development while reflecting the increased value as Memori grows from its current core experience into a more complete package with content creation tools and expanded features. The final 1.0 price will reflect the full scope of what the game offers at that point.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We maintain multiple channels for ongoing community feedback and involvement. I regularly stream development sessions where viewers can watch progress in real-time and provide immediate input on design decisions, new features, and gameplay elements as they're being built.
Our Discord server with 600+ members serves as the primary hub for community feedback, bug reports, and feature discussions. This gives us a dedicated space for more detailed conversations about the game's direction and allows players to connect with each other around shared experiences.
We also use structured feedback forms to gather specific input on particular features or issues. This helps us collect organized data on player preferences and pain points that might get lost in general chat discussions.
The Early Access period will expand these efforts, giving us much more player data to work with. We plan to be responsive to community input while balancing feedback with our overall vision for the game, keeping players informed about which suggestions we're implementing and why.”
