Coming Soon To Early Access

The developers of this game intend to release as a work in progress, developing with the feedback of players.

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Still need to develop secondary features such as voice recognition, in-game soundtrack, additional regions.

Airflow is still in development and we need user-feedback on whether to remain a local, mania-style game or to continue to an online mulitplayer, full-world simulator.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Airflow will be in early access for approximately six months until the end of the year.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“In the full version we plan to create a full-world, online server where controllers will connect and coordinate in the same simulation. We plan to have controllers earn their ranks at smaller airports before moving on to the busier airports. We plan to track stats per user such as control-time, total arrivals, and efficiency. In addition to radar screens, we plan to include arrivals lists, flight strip bays, communications panels, etc.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Airflow currently is a single-player, mania-style game as the approach controller at Seattle Tacoma International airport. Aircraft enter the airspace and are directed to land at the airport through radio commands. Basic stats such as number of landings are displayed.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, early access is cheaper than the full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We need feeback from the community on the direction to take Airflow. We plan to setup channels in Steam forums where users can contact us. We also plan to involve the VATSIM community in their chat rooms and forums to learn their interests for this product.

Already have Steam discussions, Reddit, Instagram, Facebook. Already have feedback forms”

About This Game

Take ownership of an airspace, learn its unique features, and coordinate with others to design your own procedures and arrival streams. Feel the rush of managing high-pressure situations at busy airspaces and the satisfaction of delivering aircraft on time without conflicts.

Immersive

Learn real-world airspaces, procedures, and phraseology. Start at smaller airports, earn endorsements, and climb the ranks to the world’s busiest airspaces. Mimic real airport operations or develop your own strategies.

Collaborate with neighboring controllers or split airspaces to tackle challenges too big for one person. Communicate effectively to maintain safe separation and efficient traffic flow.

Explore the different position types to find which suits you.

  • Ramp/Ground - Sequence aircraft along taxiways in a puzzle-like role.

  • Tower - Take responsibility for runway operations.

  • Approach - Funnel aircraft to their destination in a 3D spatial-awareness challenge.

  • Enroute/Oceanic - Plan routes, schedules, and create highways of long-haul traffic.

Autonomous

Control with confidence knowing that pilots will follow your commands precisely. No need for behind-the-scenes instructors or virtual pilots. Since pilots fly entirely on their own, even the busiest airspaces can reach peak traffic levels.

Efficient

Stay organized with helpful tools:

  • Flight Strip Bay - Sort your flights and quickly lookup routes or vector assignments.

  • Flight Board - Gauge traffic levels and check flight status.

  • Coordination Page - Coordinate with neighboring controllers.

Customize your radar scope to fit your needs, displaying relevant airports, navaids, runway centerlines, procedures, etc. Start with labels and then gradually declutter as you naturally memorize the airspace.

System Requirements

    Minimum:
    • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
    • OS: Window 10
    • Processor: 1 GHz
    • Memory: 512 MB RAM
    • Storage: 100 MB available space
