Why Early Access?

“Not a lot of games allow you to explore the universe through a portal, and even less put you in charge of the exploration program itself. Our primary focus is ensuring that everything works seamlessly and that we prioritize the features that matter most to players. We would like to gathered feedback from our players about the implemented features, but also about the one they expect to see in the game, to be sure to offer them a game in correlation with their interests.

We've found that the base-building and management genres work exceptionally well with Early Access, enabling us to continuously refine and improve the game mechanics over time through iterations.

We also have more features and content in mind, but we want first get players opinions about the base content of the game, and to check with them how we should prioritize the upcoming content.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Our current plan is to run Early Access for about a year, though this timeline may change based on both reception and the development cycle.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“When Early Access launches we’ll be sharing our full roadmap, showcasing our plans for Exogate Initiative. The full game is planned to have at least one new class to hire, AI opponents, a mission editor, new room and equipment and quality of life fixes. This roadmap will not be the end of our plans, as we’ll continue to update it as the game grows throughout development.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“With our initiation mode, which provides a set of objectives to teach players the game, and freeplay mode, there are already numerous hours of gameplay available. Our Early Access build is a significant improvement over our previous demo versions, as it incorporates valuable feedback from our players and community.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Across the Early Access timeline there will be price increases before we finally land on our final sales price at full launch.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We believe that player feedback is the key to creating a great game. That's why we've been collaborating with our community since before the original demo, to showcase the current state of the game and our plans for the future. Through our closed beta and demo experiences, they have helped us identify quality-of-life improvements and made valuable suggestions. As we continue to build Exogate Initiative through Early Access on Steam, we plan to leverage our Steam Forum, Discord community, and social media platforms to allow players to vote on their favorite features and participate in other initiatives”
